I was worried about going to see prince live for the first time (as I did last Monday @ Manchester) as I didnt think that this new mellow, clean, religious Prince would be half as entertaining or fun as the man Ive seen on TV and video...but I was totally wrong, it was equally...if not more entertaining.

We've come to know Prince as being one damn dirty individual, and we love him all the more for it, but everybody has to change. Everyone has to grow up, and what was right for the man once isnt necessarily right for him now.

If you compare him to someone like Madonna (both 44), who was very similar to Prince in the way she was very overtly sexual, and did it in a manner so as to challenge the stale concepts of sexuality within society, you can see that she too has calmed down the sexuality in her act dramatically.

Prince is simply no longer the horny youngster he was back in the day, and why should he pretend to be. He's got enough talent in his little finger to warrant our adoration regardless of his on stage antics.

Still, Supernova has a very valid point. Prince can't be 26 forever. Sure, he can still be SEXY, but that doesn't always mean licking his guitar or the microphone. He's a gentleman now. He was NOT a gentlemen back then. (Image-wise, I mean). On the other hand, we shouldn't act like he's 70, either. The man is not OLD, yet! From what I've heard, men reach their sexual peak in their 40s/50s!

Finally, I believe that no matter HOW religious Prince gets, or HOW many different kinds of bibles he reads, Prince will ALWAYS love sex and women. And he will always touch upon it SOMEHOW in his music, even if its subtle (like on TRC). The man just can't help himself. He may be a gentlemen now, but he STILL wants your sex. He just won't lick his tongue out at you to get it anymore.

But about Prince, yes he is changing his image because he's intelligent enough to know that he has to change his image.

He's in his 40s. A little bumping and grinding is okay, but his days of crawling around the stage, humping mic stands, rolling around with Cat or Diamond and Pearl, and wearing see-through pants or buttless pants and basically carrying on like a sex fiend was a lot of fun and very entertaining, but that's over now.

I think that if he had a female dancer in his act, he could still do some sexy dances and this would entertain people who miss the nasty stuff. I'm still puzzled over why he stopped doing the sexy dances with Geneva. The dancing with Geneva was a good way to keep sexiness in the show without going over the top the way he used to.

If Prince is gonna have another Sexy Dancer the Babe is gonna be Hot like Mayte was not Geneva. Mayte or Cat were Unbelieveable. The Lovesexy Tour was Awesome you know cause the way Prince,Shelia and Cat interacted was Awesome and the Band was Tight and Funky! Brittney Spears was $85.00 that's only $40 dollars less than Prince. The gentleman Prince is a good image for him to explore. It can carry him through his 40s, 50s and into his 60s. He could never get away with the sex act 10 years from now.

i dont know how old you are but cant you imagine that it's not the fact that all of a sudden it's hit him that he's 44 and decided to slow down but it's been a gradual thing, what if Prince WAS your father, my father doesnt look 48 but he is and when he was 44 i would not have wanted him wiggling his butt on stage, okay i strayed from the point. the fact is, prince has always been religious and he's made choices, some choices will be good some will be bad.

The image was created mainly for marketing purposes and he has moved on from focusing on charts and sales to focusing on the music he creates.

I loved the sexy past. It drew me in and still holds me fascinated today. But I'm intrigued by the possibilities of the future from a man who has a brilliant talent as a musician and the depth of mind and spirit to take the whole process to yet another level.
