Are other artist of P's level moving from record label to record label? Most artist have people or a lable looking out for their financial interest. It appears that P may be taking the lead whereas some artist are not directly involved with this sort of thing.

The mom was not sued. She was sent a cease and desist letter. She is the one talking about filing a suit. In addtion, if she is sued or if anyone is sued they are in the wrong for using the music without permission.

UMG or Prince did nothing wrong sending this woman that letter.
That is really the only point I am trying to make. Because you don't like some action that P takes. Does not make it wrong or illegal.

Please do some looking loads of articles about the lawsuits flying back and forth and no artist are not suing but their record labels and publishing companies are.

Prince ISN'T the most famous person in the world. There are MANY other artists who have been around as long if not LONGER. And this ISN'T about "bootlegs". The fan sites weren't "trafficking in bootlegs". YouTube isn't about "bootlegs".

Universal, Web Sheriff, the lawyers, they all represent Prince the way in which he wants to be represented.

Prince scours the internet every day looking at discussions, posts, etc. Why else do you think, when Housequake posted a banner with his image on it, they immediately get an email from a Prince representative saying "Prince does not like the banner, take it down."

Prince is busy reading our messages and watching what we do. He's just that much of a control freak. Since he's not making good music anymore, this is all he really has to do.

This is ridiculous. Prince gives the greenlight to do these things. He always has even before his deal with Universal. He has always hated the fact that fan sites do a better job at presenting and promoting his work. He detests the fact that people not on his payroll have a higher quality of content and promotion than his paid staff ever will. Also, these fans can say anything they want without a gag contract. Wake up to the fact that Prince doesn't like when people express his work freely. All this did was make sure that Princes work is going to be heavily bootlegged across internet communities far and wide. That is all this did. And that is all anyone is doing By OBJECTING.

Want to know why most of his staff left? With actions like this people finally realized they don't have to protect his image. Prince has been notorious for being cursed by his encompassing vision. It has fully consumed him and these actions prove this. Who does he have in his life that isnt on the payroll?
The answer is virtually no one. That's why person after person peels themselves away from Prince. The staff has had it and no one will come out in his defense except his publicity firm, some delusioned pseudo authoritarian fans and a pseudo poseur authority figure calling himself "Web Sheriff" Oh wait, I forgot it's all of Universals doing. Distribution is a MAFIA that no one really wants to discuss. And a scapegoat is created so will never discuss why 4 major companies distribute the bulk of all music around the world. These artists are just being fed lines of paranoia that their downloads are really affecting their sales. And before you answer that how many things has NPG taken without Copyright approval? I am so tired of hearing about one excuse after the next. The painful truth is people are buying Kanye West and Jay Z and Beyonce records not Prince records.

Prince says he isn't a slave but being a slave to paranoia,insecurity,jealousy,envy,anger,immaturity and other traits is what made alot of people just give up on him. I am sorry if fans don't want to hear that but look around. Who is left Kathy Jensen and Sam and the latest incarnation of the NPG? What level of fear does Prince have over people not in his circle? It's hit a new height. He exposed himself in a major profound way with this song.
And yet people think this is a proper way to have any kind of dialogue.

Just for that response I hope someone with the balls starts a blog and just posts wall to wall copyrighted photos and gives them a email that goes to nowhere. People need to leave fans who make no revenue alone. This is such a powder keg. And if Prince is reading this he should focus on a more serious issue than whether someone posted a photo of Prince shaking hands with Elvis.

I got a question for the loyalists: Why did they delete so many messages? Why did they delete their own threads when they were maliciously being deceptive? NPG could never handle the truth. Because it's such a volatile place of perception and perspective. Everyone has a particular side which they conveyed and that really put a crink in the system. That place acted like the Vatican and the fans made that place. Yet everyone just wants to pretend "Prince didnt do that he is positive! " I don't hear any of these NEW POWER ZOMBIES even mention that shit.
But that happened and NPG destroyed their own place because they couldn't handle
fans saying even 1/10th of the TRUTH of what they were thinking. That's pathetic really.

The worst thing you can do to Prince is look at the situation with a Paisley Filter. And just compliment everything he does. It doesn't make you negative if you comment on something in a critical fashion. Prince is as critical as they come. Everything from Art to Religion to Politics to Popular Culture. That doesn't make him negative does it? What makes him negative in my book is the fact the only ones who can defend him are his defense team in cease and desist emails. Which Im sorry to say to the nonbelievers he has a IMMENSE role in that particular course of action.



One last semi related thing: Prince clearly did not want to fall back on his previous catalog. He said for years and years "This is the last time...then it's gonna it no more Purple Rain material" He was pushing 3121 heavily even naming a perfume after this project. BTW how is that perfume selling? But he had to go back to play how MUCH of Purple RAIN? 60 Percent?!? No wonder he is bitter and mad that so many people reference him for that
