frankly, the whole androgynous thing was part of an image he carefully created that has helped make him quite successful. I imagine the questions probably irritate some of his fans more than him.

I don't think he wants to get rid of it. I mean, he still runs around in those heels and all that make-up. This is an image he has made for himself and he may not be rubbing up on his bass player anymore but he doesnt seed to be fighting it.

secondly, I don't think he can. There's too much of it. He can't fight years and years and years + a day of this.
And look at him. He's so damn pretty, he has these naturally feminine features. He can't help that.

One of my male coworkers recently asked me why does Prince wear the fake eyelashes??? and eyeliner if he's not gay...I told him he's a rock star and very into his persona...This dude didn't even know he was married or had had a baby. I had him prisoner on a road trip, so we listened to Emancipation Disc 2 and 3121 and schooled him a bit. He actually liked 3121 and asked what year it was from. He also liked the Superbowl performance..

My son recently walked into my bedroom and picked up my bottle of 3121. I told him it was unisex. He smirked only Prince would actually wear it though. This is a young man who was exposed to Prince as a toddler (born in 1984) and he knows Prince is not gay but very much in touch with his feminine side..

I think alot of people are confused, homophobic, or see it as a joke, but I really don't think Prince cares.

I don't think so. Last weekend, my 14 year old nephew kept referring to him as a fruit. I don't think he could name one Prince song if his life depended on it. My mother has even implied that she thought he was a homosexual and she can only name one song of his. (betcha can't guess which one ) I think it's because unless you're a Prince fan (or were at one time), you know very little about his personal life. My mom was shocked that he's been married. Prince is very secretive which has kept him safe but at the same time has kept people guessing, especially about his sexuality. But I'm sure he doesn't give a flying fuck. Have you ever noticed that it's usually "straight" males that comment about his sexuality? I wonder why they're so fascinated.
