I came so late into the game that I missed it... even though it was done just b4 Musicology came out.
Chances are this thread will close soon for posting that link, but whatever. I have it saved, actually. And it is so cool. I learned so much from it and it gave me more information about what happened with The Black Album and such. I never got the whole story. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

I remember i heard one quite sometime ago on radio bbc! Prince sent her the song for her 'Contribution' album, so not really a cover. She released it as a single too. This all followed an aftershow at the Camden Palace (now KoKo) in '88 where she was in the crowd up front (had already had a few hits in the UK) and Prince recognized her and gave her a microphone - she ad libbed on Just My Imagination. Great aftershow.

Great aftershow. That's the very same aftershow that was featured in a BBC Omnibus documentry back around 92'. It's a shame we can't stream that from the BBC website. I could be mistaken but I think Ronnie Woods came on and jammed. [Edited 11/15/07 13:32pm]

Call me late in catchting this train, being this was done back in 2003, and I am just now hearing it. In a way it's kinda cool, that there are still things out there about him I do not know about... I have to admit that when Prince called Susan Rogers to the Paisley Park studio late one night with only two candles burning in the dark studio, and him standing in the dark hall way scared me. Because I was picturing this whole scene, and I have been to Paisley Park, it can be a creepy place at night. But then again the only thing to fear is fear itself right??? thnk about it.

When I heard that account on the audio version of the documentary, I swear I got shivers runnin' down my spine. She was saying how the set-up might sound like "typical Prince" to some people. But I didn't believe it for a second. He is bizarre at times, but he's never THAT out there, at least not when he's in his right mind. I accept that it could have been drugs... but considering the alternative (her saying that he had reached something like rock-bottom that night)... that's an even scarier thought. :shudder: had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

I have it on VHS somewhere.
