van gogh who else has heard this bootleg, fantastic song..how in the world did such a good song not get released
- if this was on any other artists cd it would be a hilight, but with prince, some of his best material goes unheard by the masses (guess it makes being a fan more fun ) such a good beat, great lyrics, catchy sounds - pure prince. Wouldn't you love to love me?

well i like this song, but it did get released through NPGMC and that version was "SHIT" compared 2 the emancipation outtake version. I really think that prince released "PURE SHIT" on NPGMC on purposes sumtimes.

I only heard the NPGMC version. I didn't know it was originally meant for Emancipation. _________________________________________

Great song! I think the story goes that he lifted it from a woman named Sandra St. Victor (along with some other songs she had such as Soul Sanctuary) and made it his own without necessarily giving her any credit. He gave this one to a band called Van Gogh, then took it back for the NPGMC. I still haven't heard Sandra's or Van Gogh's versions, but the NPGMC version is excellent!!

Van Gogh is a track that originated in 1995. A few changes were made in 1996 and was intedend for Emancipation but remained unreleased till it was put on NPGMC.
Also I heard it was a collaboration with Sandra St. Victor. Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

Van Gogh dates to 1994, two versions are circulating, both on The Work, first version on The Work Vol. 5 Disc 3.
Second version is on The Work Vol. 8. "Waiting to be banned"
