What's the consesus about Prince's webmaster, Sam? What are the general feelings toward Sam, Prince's webmaster? I understand he was held in decent regard back before the L4OA days, however he then started working for Prince. T mentioned years back that Sam even bought bootlegs back in the day, before he started working for Prince and became "holier than thou." The consensus in some quarters is that he's a hot piece of cake. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

The implied that a judgment was being made. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

true.. he's got some female fans of his own these days.. I keep saying P should lend him a bodyguard ~ don't forget Chad; the cool scoop of ice cream As for my consensus: I first met Sam about 3 yrs ago.. he's always been a sweet, nice, cool guy with me; never got a bad vibe from the man. -- And why the "holier than thou" line at all? Let's be real/logical: He was a fan 'back in the day' like the rest of us.. but if you began working for someone -- and had some shred of decency or amount of integrity -- wouldn't you stop with bootlegs, too? It would be hypocritical to work with someone who doesn't allow/like his work bootlegged, and then still participate in that.. I recently bought some stuff with Sam's artwork on it thru his own website. Y'all should check it out: http://www.samnation.com Hag. Muse. Web Goddess. Taurean. Tree Hugger. Poet. Professional Nerd. No. But I'd certainly say otherwise.

No. But I'd certainly say otherwise. So, basically...decency and integrity aren't core values for you. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Except for that area of my life that includes pornography. That's why I'm always getting spanked. But as far as the rest of the varying aspects of my life, I'm a pretty decent person.

I don't think there is a "Consensus" on Sam. He runs the Prince Nights at Berlin and Back in the day, he would always have the newest material. I have heard he is no longer in Prince's good graces as much as he used to be.
IMO, he does decent web design but terrible artwork for Prince's albums from the last decade. Christian Zombie Vampires

sam has as much power as prince is willing to give
tho it's be interesting to know if sam has a larry kinda effect on prince in return note the change from site to site

Until I stopped going to Prince's website, my consensus was...he doesn't work enough because there's nothing to do on Prince's site but read cryptic gibberish but since I no longer participate and still won't after this drama is over. I think it's all it should be for that son of a king!

Although i'd have to agree with the concensus on the album artwork, i met the man once a long time ago, and he seemed like a genuinely nice guy.
And his lovely wife is a total sweetheart and the biggest Prince fan i've ever met. http://www.facebook.com/p...111?ref=ts

I think she would pretty much have to be -- knowing what little I do of what Sam puts up with from "he who shall remain nameless." We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. aw.. that's not true-- NPGMC (and previous websites) went thru several design phases... but as a webmaster myself I can tell you: you do what the client wants. If they want to continue a 'look' from site to site... *shrug* they can always find someone else to do what they want, so, the money might as well stay/be going into your pocket. I had no idea that one guy was the designer for so much of the recent stuff... I wonder why Prince doesn't switch it up a bit more?
To tell you the truth I don't really know if I would want to be subject to working for Prince as a long term designer, it might really ruin the mood, and have no real perks... but maybe there are perks (besides a paycheck)... more music, videos, and performances... I could just imagine my co-workers turning against me if I got us signed up to design or produce some media on a Prince project... and he started becoming a difficult client. I know that ~ many do but the question was about Sam as Webmaster; not whatever other web developers or programmers that have helped built components of P's various sites.
