That's surprising. Good stuff, even if it's not my favorite song of his. Good on him anyway.thumbs up!
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

It's funny how, after all the talk of wanting to break away from the electronic sound, that it's a song with a Linn that gets him chart rating again for the first time how long?

Not surprising at all. Many times it was mentioned on this board that that song did well on A/C formats.

That's true. I just didn't think it would chart as high as it did for a year-end chart. It's great news.

A fortysomething buddy of mine in the DC area called me up a few months ago. In the course of our talking, he asked me: "Hey, what's the name of that new Prince song -- "Baby Mama Drama?" "Future Mama Somethin'?" It's tight..."

Apparently, it was getting much play on the AC formats. Back in the day, Prince got much love in that market from WKYS and WHUR, the Howard U station.

AC format is the only place P is going to get air play and he is smart to put an AC cut on his CD's. It keeps him on the radio.
