LET'S GO BEYOND

For many of the people I have observed at celebrations, concerts, afterparties and gatherings... the following are things we all should recognize...

If not for Prince and his dedication to give to the fans for well over 20 - 30 years to gather and have fun...

Prince has offered thru his music more than money can buy and more than most offer in the way of...

FriendSHIPS that have been made that have lasted for years and will continue

FriendSHIPS with people from around the world gathering at his house (Paisley Park) for celebrations and Friday night parties

FriendSHIPS in many cities simply because he played in them

Excitement in dance with all Friendships

The feeling of a special family with everyone around the world at gatherings, concerts and celebrations...

The moments and experiences most performers have not been able to give in dedication of entertaining the spirit, body, mind and soul... around the world right into your living room, your car, your heart.

Do you honestly feel that you have been ripped off? OR can you think about what you would have never had, if he didn't keep sharing what he has already with you?

I say this to you... make sure you know what you say when you say it and say it with your heart instead of what you feel is owed to you...

For in reality nothing is owed but given.

Take care,
QuietSeven

the only thing that is "owed" me in this situation is something that is neither mine, prince's, or anyone else's to give or take away.

and perhaps in our dissent right now, some of us are actually trying to GIVE some things to prince that he may be sorely lacking. things like clarity and perspective.

at the end of the day, prince didn't "give" me any of his albums and i didn't "give" him any of my money. we've made numerous fair trades over his career and my lifetime. i have no complaints there, and the overwhelming majority of what i've paid for has been really fine quality product.

wait. what was this thread about again?

FreindSHIP, is a truly a magical voyage that one holds dear to their heart. To find a "true" friend, one that you click with is amazing. The process of finding that person(s) is another gift through God as he allows us to do all in life. I have always felt thankful to Prince for the music as well as for giving me opportunities to find other people and become friends. I have been given a lifetime of lessons in and through Prince with the help of God. I think I need to figure out how to give something more back. hmmm

So this thread gets thumbs up!

We know most of that and no ones disputing it. However, most our beef is about the here and now and what he's been up too lately and it's been less than stellar.

Special feelings of family tend to disappear when greedy, self serving lawyers and threats of lawsuits become involved.

What's with the lecture, man.

Look, it's not for you or anyone else (Prince included) to try and tell people what to think and how to express it. That's what this is about.

Not "entitlement", or "obligation". I don't feel he or any other musician owes me shit. And I'm sure I'm not the only one.
