For You is surprisingly wonderful!! I just got this album recently and I was a little disapointed after initially listening to it.
How wrong was I, Ive grown to love it, especailly 'In Love' obviously 'Soft and Wet', but also 'My love is forever' and 'Just as Long as Were Together' Its got quite a disco feel about it, I guess thats due to the era it came from but still a cracking album. Is 'baby' about an unplanned pregnancy? Any thoughts and views would be much appreciated you guys... Oh Princey if your free for a couple of hours...If you aint busy for the next 7 years...Lets Pretend were married, and go all night.. | |

It doesn't surprise me. I knew it was wonderful 29 years ago and I was only 8.
I used to sneak into cousin's room and listen to her 8 track of it, til she caught me and beat me up for reading about her being his Princess fantasy in her diary. 
Man, those were good times! 
I could for listening to that right now but I can't!  Prince, hurry up and quit being a butthead so I can go back to appreciating your music!! | |

My old band used to cover "I'm Yours" and that's still one of my all-time favorite Prince tracks.

Those first few albums were really hard for me to appreciate because I was already familiar with his later music, which is far more advanced and expressive. But once I got into For You I found it to be loaded with a high degree of personal charm! I love it!!! | |

This album is quite lovely...it hooked me right away especially Soft and Wet...I also totally think of For You (the intro) as his theme song and when I'm baffled by his actions I just remember he's sharing his life with us, for better or for worse. | |
