Just been listening to lolita, and there is a line in there, 'I must admit, long ago we'd have been the sh**'

It occurs to me that ok prince isn't swearing in his new material and performances, but surely isn't inferring a swear just as bad, or essentially the same thing?

Surely if your avoiding swearing in your songs for moralistic reasons, you wouldn't even want to suggest swear words, otherwise whats the point in not doing it in the first place?

Good point. He plays by his own rules, as always.

Because he's Prince...its to be expected almost.

But I give him credit for making the effort to not swear anymore!

Also "we'd be the shit" isn't really a swear like, oh, say "ur face looks like shit"

he likes to tease us with profanity without actually forming the words, because he knows certain fans want him to use it and other fans are "policing" his lyrics and waiting for him to slip up. to me, the intent is just as potent as actually saying the word, but hey - it's his game and it doesn't mean a thing to me, so i hope he has fun with it!
