Resolution. Has it grown on people yet?

I was driving home from work today blaring PE on the CD. My favourite moment was Resolution. That song has so many levels!

Has it grown on you. I know in our initial votes on the org it came near the bottom.

Surely everyone can see its genius now!?

I still find it a bit trite and naiive but all in all its a jolly enough way to spend a few minutes of your time. I'd rather be going out to Purple Rain though. Boy, Prince was a lot of fun in the '80s wasn't he? What's he up to these days?

I liked the song as soon as I heard it, one of my favorites from the album.

oh come on the the PE Track 8 9 and 10 is as good as it gets! Imagine is P***ce had put them out as a three track EP, rather than spoilt them on an album with Mr Goodnight!

Kind of. I like its uplifting spirit, but the lyrics are too immature and simplistic.

I think they suit it. A sort of 60's simple anti war song.

I think he's saying that the last three songs on Planet Earth are prime Prince, and that it's the other lesser songs on the album that overshadow their greatness.

I absolutely love it.

If you know the chords, post 'em so that I can play it every time I pick up my guitar.

Chelsea Rogers (average), Lion Of Judah (really good), and then Resolution (average).

At this point, I'm inclined to ask Prince "How many people really want resolution?" The main problem with war...? Hm. All P seems to want to do is fight. He never runs out of enemies.

The song is OK, the lyrics are silly.

'Chelsea Rogers 'I liked at first, then hated and I've come to the conclusion that it's OK. 'Lion of Judah' is complete toss. 'Resolution' is pleasant enough.

Okay, this is the first song I didn't especially care for right off the bat. It just sounded too 'plain jane' for me, but then I'm always looking for the flashiest and sassiest songs on a Prince album to start out with.

Then a few months after I'd brought the album home, I started hearing that intro guitar in my head. A few days later, I was humming some of the chorus. Then, one night I rose from a peaceful slumber in the middle of the night, singing at the top of my lungs "The MAIN prob-lem with WAR, is that no-body ever WINS..." (I swear, I'm not making this up). And then I was hooked! I love the song now!!!

I honestly think its one of his worst ever songs. I listened to it yesterday, first time in a while and the first verse still made me cringe!

What do you like about it, Wendy & Lisa?

The surprise grower for me has been 'all the midnights'

im actually different to most people here, I actually liked it when i first heard it. I guess I tend to notice the music and singing more than anything. Its just over time, listening and thinking about the lyrics that I started to HATE it. Really, its embarrassing.

I 2nd that.

the song has grown on me, now I'm trying to shake it off.
I'm tempted to make a compilation of the worst songs.
Resolution is right up there with Graffitti Bridge and Gold. lol
small circles, big wheels!
I've got a pretty firm grip on the obvious!
