One of my favourites!
I don't remember P saying it was written with anyone in mind. If it was based on real life at the time, I'm guessing it would have been about Susan Moonsie. I could never understand why this didn't make it onto the 1999 album. It would have fitted perfectly on side two of the vinyl in between Lets pretend and DMSR. Prince singing it in full live in london on Aug 7th was one of the highlights of the tour for me. . | |

Loved the song! Especially when its dark and raining outside. 
Alicia Keys did a rendition on it a few years back but I never thought it came close to P's version. Did anyone else do a remake ? I have NO idea who inspired it..would be interesting to find out. Glad it wasent me

I loved that he did this at the Target Center since I hadn't seen him do that since 1982. It was gorgeous then since I hadn't heard it before...His piano playing makes me wet (my eyes that is)..... | |

Cool b-side. I remember when the 1999 single came out. I bought it THAT day. I've dug How Come ever since. It's impossible to know who it's about. Could be about no one.
