If Prince Was Still With Warner..... So.... Here we are in 2008..Its been around 13years since prince last released an album with WB. Now We Gotta Admit that everything after 92' just hasn't been ground breaking (Apart from one or two) like in the 80's.
Since 2000+ I feel Prince Has released some of my favourite albums, but maybe they don't compare to the impact some of his most famous albums had. So... I was Thinking Lets say Prince Did't changed his name, and those albums released in the 90's till present were on a WB label, Do U reckon WB would of dropped prince from their label along time ago? Its wierd that some artist these days have one bad album and they are dropped! what album or era do u reckon WB would'a been like "We're Not promoting this shit" Peace [Edited 11/10/07 8:21am] Keenmeister

I think if P had stayed with WB, he would have gotten a deal like Bruce Springstseen, Billy Joel, MJ, etc...where he owned his master recordings, but they promote and market his stuff.
Now, it's not saying that P would have stayed with WB, especially since their urban marketing had died tremendously before he left. He probably still wouldn't have gotten a hit...even with the last one, "TMBGITW". **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

The business itself is over my head. However, a good song sounds good on any label. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

Nope.. why? cause when Prince puts his best effort forward, he makes ridiculous money..and any label will pick him up.. WB would have kept him.. and if he had of handled the WB situation in a better manner.. he would have had his masters today ..

You guys are so clueless. WB the music divsion was sold to a private equity group by TimeWarner/AOL a few years ago. The new owners tried to sign Prince up he turned them down.
The new owners have not be able to make a success out of the label. Please goggle and see for yourselves. Flowerz said: andykeen said: So... Prince is about more than albums and hits. Should be pretty obvious by now.

He way he would have been picked up by another label and WB would have still sold the label.
