I just want to thank all the orgers who posted here...
Special props goes out to SexyBeautifulOne and paintedlady. You guys are the iSht! You're invited out for drinks if you ever hit the Bay Area (CA.) Some would say I ranted in my OP but I just can't tell you how dissapointed I am in a man who I've supported for so long. Some would say that I'm just another crazy obsessed fan but I'll tell ya, I can count the number of musical "idols" that I have on my thumb. No one has affected me musically the way Prince has so when it comes down to it what he's doing to the fan-sites is wrong. Even I was surprised at how HURT I felt when I read what was up, really surprised! Since then I've been pretty gloomy and even my wife has commented that my whole persona feels different. If a man's music has that much power over me, imagine what it must be like for all of us collectively? That is why I called him out. Suffice it to say I haven't heard from him but... Prince gave away the musicology CD's at his concerts because he can. You know as well as I do that he would have sold out those concerts weather he gave the CD's away or not.You no this . Just because your mad don't act like Prince doesn't sell Cd's or sell out concerts. Prince doesn't owe you anything or me for that matter. Either you buy the music or you don't, you go to the concerts or you don't.You have every right to your opinion but you no as well as I do that people have been taking major advantage of the situation. He decided for whatever reason to crack the whip. People are talking about boycotting Prince and booing him at his shows. To all of them I say grow up. There are many more things in this world worth boycotting, and Prince is not one of them.Do you need to see a Prince pic that bad? Hell, I'm sure that most of you have all of his dag on pics anyway. But cease and desists for photos of fan tattoos and pictures of fans in Prince t-shirts are not within his rights to remove. Prince gave away his CDs because he knew his concerts would sell since at that time Prince hadn't toured in some time. He gave away cds with tickets to boost his cd sales because he knows he can sell out a venue but since radio stations don't care for his sound they don't play him and Prince isn't generating record sales like he used to, so he cheated by having the cds he GAVE away be counted as SALES , he knew he couldn't sell a million cds in the US. I have a right to be treated as any consumer of a product.....if the company that supplies the product I faithfully buy misleads its consumer or takes action against the consumer then the consumers have a right to complain and in some circumstances ask for damages. You said that Prince wouldn't sell 1 million Cd's without giving them. He did sell 1 million Cd's not giving them away. Again, if Prince gives the Cd's away people are negative, if he doesn't give them away, people are negative. These are the same people that were saying that Prince had a bad business sense and now when he is making more money that he has ever made. Guess what, people are mad and say that he has a bad business sense.I know that the mans not perfect, who is, but it seems to me that people just come on this sight to rag on the guy.All right I shouldn't have said that you act like a ten year old. Prince is a very smart businessman, I never said he wasn't. It is pure genius that he can turn a high profit from the number of his cd sales, especially since there is always little to no airplay on the radio and little promo work done (videos) before any release of a new cd.
As far as any insult goes, in cyberspace, an insult is just as significant to me as a wart on a knat's ass.....I can't get mad at someone that doesn't know me,..too cool for that! I ain't mad at ya Bull, I understand your passion for P | |
