The Prince and Maceo album.....on no.

according to Maceo's booking agent over in the UK, Prince and Maceo have been collaborating on Maceo's next album. It has something to do with Maceo doing dates next spring in the UK but Prince is taking a long time to do the album so Maceo's dates keep getting pushed back.
i just hope it's not going to be like Chaka's last album. Boy was that a stinker.

Some of us enjoyed the Chaka/Prince cd.
Looking forward to a Maceo/Prince cd.

This could be cool if it's true. I wasn't too keen on Maceo's versions of The Greatest Romance Ever Sold or Baby Knows, but they were both from a fairly dubious era, and all Maceo did was replace Prince's vocals with horns. Now that Prince and Maceo have been touring and performing some amazing material, we may hear something a little more experimental.

Perhaps, just as Madhouse's album 26 was turned into Eric Leeds' Times Squared, Xenophobia could turn into a Maceo Parker album?

I've been listening to a lot of Miles Davis recently, and I'd love to see something a little calmer in Prince's own work...

Mr7

If its recorded with Prince's new touring band the album could be a killer.

Hope it's true. "Dial M-A-C-E-O" was not my favorite, but Macoe's "Funk Overload" was pretty sweet.

Vibe called the Chaka/Prince album a "certified masterpiece"...which is EXACTLY what it was...

As far as I'm concerned "Come 2 My House" was THE Prince album of '98...
