Is this Web Sheriff Stuff for real?

Is this Web Sheriff Stuff for real? It all sounds like a joke to me. I know Prince is a control freak and may have some issues with certain items on the internet but he is not stupid. There are a lot of people on this site coming out with crap like I don't like Prince anymore because he is attacking his fans. Doesn't sound likely from a guy who gives away his new CD (which is not crap like so many of you seem to think), formed the NPG Music Club, provided exclusive tracks for members, has invited fans to concerts at his home, lets fans into his soundchecks, performs aftershows like no other artist. Prince has given a lot to his fans more than most artists out there who just want to rip them off. If everyone on this site put up their picture wearing a Prince T shirt, or wearing a Prince pendant or maybe holding one of the 321 tamborines, would P sue? Would there be a letter from the web sherrif saying they must be taken down? I doubt it, not in the land of reality anyway, because it isn't illegal to wear a t shirt you have paid money to an artist for. No court in the land would uphold that. The whole thing is a joke. Enjoy the music and the tours, the fuss will soon die down and you will all have something else to go on about.

Defamation of character is real....I have suffered this abuse myself. As many actor's, actresses's, performers may have suffered through false reports, or misleading information.

Unnecessary gossip, paparazzi that cause traffic accidents....

What happened to the Golden Rule?

Just because someone shares an aspect of themselves with the public for a career, should not position them for public attack, or private invasion.

All people deserve, to have their privacy.

Erm yes.

To my understanding what you describe falls under the same umbrella as the Tattoos & license plates which have recieved a cease and desist notice.
Wearing your T shirt or Pendant in public is different to posting a Pic of yourself in said pendant/T'shirt then posting that Pic on a public forum on the net....
THAT is what has got the Son of a Kings knickers in a twist, you didn’t pay to circulate that image (on the net) you only paid to wear it.
The Son of a King wants you to PAY for any additional and in his mind unlawful usage or not post to a public forum in the first place.

I know we all want to defend Prince here and believe he's done nothing wrong but this is all ridiculous. The copyright for an image lies purely with the photographer, not the subject. He has no right to demand that people take down photographs of their own property. What is he going to do next? Demand that people who have tatoos of his image have them removed?

Even though I can appreciate where The Son of a King is coming from, it doesn't mean that I agree with it.

Because so many orgers appear to be caught up in the flaming and posting libellous statements and images (That imo can only serve to hurt the Org in the long run)
There has been very little constructive discussion or appreciation of both points of view.....both sides definitely have a point worth respecting.

Right now the org needs our support, not mass exodus’s or posting of further libelous 'evidence' for the WB spies who will be reading everything and taking note.

You're right, it doesn't sound like the Prince that did all those things - But it does sound like the Prince who took action against several other big websites and fanzines a few years back. This is the sequel! lol

Yes, I hear he has employed an army of people to travel around the world hunting down people with Prince related tattoos and surgically removing them while shouting "What's my name" at them.
