Just in case the worst happens, I want to have that piece of history to take with me.
See, doesn't it upset you that Prince has made you have to do this? Wouldn't you love to just live knowing that there's going to be fansites dedicated to Prince for however long we want them around and there's no trouble. But no. Now all these sites are so at risk we've had to make another one in order to protest, fans are throwing out their prized prince posessions and you're having to print all your hard work up just because he wants financial gain from everything associated with him. The man is obsessed with money. Not his fans, and I'd go so far as to say not his music anymore. Just bring in the cash anyway you can. | |

Okay guys, this probably will be my very last post on prince.org. It is sad and unfortunate, yes. But I feel that it's something that I have to do. When I lost Internet access in the middle of the summer, it has hard at first, but I eventually dealt it. I listened to the music on my own, developed on my own opinions... if I was around here when Planet Earth came out, I could have been "conned" into not like it cuz the overall dynamic was disapproval. I'm grateful that I love the album because it's a lot of great music. Purplesweat, all I can say is 
I haven't heard around any of my posts and suddenly you're coming with all of this. Go ahead and think I'm a nut, see if I can. I know for a fact that part of my sanity did go today  ...but it comes with supporting Prince, I guess. You can't be completely sane in order 2b so. 
To clarify 4 those who haven't figure it out yet, I am female and this is me:  Prince  ...nothing but love. For him and his 
I want to continue enjoying his music on my own terms. I've learned a lot about him since I first got here and I got all the advice I could ever want about the albums that should be in my collection. I can take it from here. My album reviews are overlooked and I can't write threads like I used to. There's nothing left for me here, so I have no problem with leaving. Just maybe part of me is afraid that all of this negativity will get to me and turn me against Prince. I don't want that to happen, especially when I just got on the ride. That's probably one of the best compliments I've been given (other than someone saying my poetry is as good as that of his Greatness). And my u/n is the best way I can describe Prince, note the dreamy expression on my avatar. And he's Pop Royalty... been around a long time, Pop is one of his many genres, and his name IS Prince, after all. I've always been all 4 Love when it comes to Prince. I've rarely had a bad thing to say about him. Even now, I hold no grudge and I feel no hatred. I'll continue to lend my support anyway I can. I'll continue my blog posts. Just 2b on the safe side, I'll print it all out tomorrow at the computer lab. That way, I won't have lost any trace of the 8 months of history Ive written there. [Edit: did so... 8 months= 101 pages of history. Even if the worst happens, at least I'll have a hard copy of my evolving perception of Prince] I'll continue with whatever thoughts of him come to mind and review his albums. Just what I've always been doing, but on a smaller scale. This is the mark I will leave behind and be remembered by.
I love Prince and his music. I will always support Prince no matter the outcome of all this. As long as I have the music, nothing else matters to me. I don't believe Prince hates his fans. His actions say otherwise, but deep down, I know that he does care about his supporters. I know he is a good person. I made it officially by coming here and gaining whatever knowledge I could about him. And I vowed that "DreamyPopRoyalty will always have great Loyalty towards Prince" He may never acknowledge me, but I don't care about that. Just in case he's watching, though, I praise him and pledge my support. Call this "blind devotion" if you will, call it whatever you want. Won't change how I feel about this man and his wonderful, beautiful music. Prince
And I apologize for leaving my friends behind. But I will keep in touch with a bunch of you thru email. And if you want to stay in touch with me, send me a ORGnote and I'll give you my email if you want to talk. Perhaps this is what he meant when he said, "All that glitters ain't gold" 
These 9 months were just the beginning. I plan on sticking with Prince for years to come and he doesn't control me. I've taken this path on my own terms, by my own choice. And no1 is going to tell me otherwise.

Prince is at fault because of this harsh approach, but the haters are more to blame for exaggerating things. well dreamy, i no i found u annoying as hell when i 1st saw ur posts, u would write essay's about albums over and over and i even made my own thread about that ,but it got locked, but eventually i saw a lot of me in u, Meaning u were just posting ur love 4 prince, b4 i had internet,i would imitate prince and MJ and i use 2 bug the hell out of my family and friends with talk about prince, and wanting 2 watch purple rain all the time, i even converted sum of my friends 2 prince fans, it went from "oh that dudes gay" to "That guy is cool as hell", i even remember me and my friend use 2 always play "Pope" everytime he would come 2 my house and we would dance and have the song blasting so loud. im still a huge prince fan but i dont obsess as much like i use 2, but i still listen 2 prince every day, im still a cocky sonofabitch when i talk 2 prince fans that are in their 40's, they get mad as hell when their talkin 2 a 18 year old who has 110 prince dvds and shit they dont even have and theyve been collecting b4 i was born. So sad, anywayz. I truly dont believe ur leaving this site and i dont think u will. Theres good and bad with everything, i no u dont like the negative comments , but thats apart of life. | |

I thought we went through this already in another thread. You've been a Prince fan for months. The majority of people in here have been (or were fans) for YEARS. We've earned the right to disapprove with his recent actions. Of course he wants to go through all this trouble, otherwise he wouldn't be doing it. This isn't about his whole battle with Warner Brothers (and if you want the real deal on what went down and why, ask i'll explain it to you), this is about his ever-growing paranoia and need to try to control what everyone in the world thinks and says about him. I don't think he owes me anything. You misunderstand. I don't owe HIM anything. Not loyalty, not to have his back, not to try to understand where he's coming from, none of it. You've been around for a couple of months, so you've given Prince what, a few hundred bucks and a few months of your life? And you REALLY can't understand that there are people that over the years have given Prince THOUSANDS of their hard earned dollars, and they resent the hell out of having someone that got rich off them tell them what to think , how to feel and where to say it? He didn't "give" us musical "gifts". WE PAID FOR THEM. WITH OUR HARD EARNED MONEY. So pardon us, if we don't feel we deserve to have a purple crap dropped on our collective heads. Hey Dreamy, I think you had alot of fun on here when you wanted to come on and give you opinion and reviews on all the cds you were listening to. But people have been doing this for years. It's not new.
This is a discussion forum. Welcome to life. It's not a lollipop Wonka-land were everything is sweet and wonderful for you. People here are discussing the daily news and events as they happen. It doesn't mean you have to agree. If you don't want to post then don't do it. But don't try to convince everyone that everything is wonderful in P-land when many of these long time fans have seen this many times before and get tired of it. Please don't insult the intelligence of many of the old fans here by doing the ol' I don't like the atmosphere here and I'm leaving. Do what you want....life moves on. But people will still talk about someone trying to control a free fansite that keeps people up to date and informed about their music hobby. Take a break and enjoy your music. Check the site every now and then to see what's new, but don't become obsessed with someone who really only cares about himself. He doesn't really care about his fan base personally and doesn't know you from eve so why get so personal. "
