Community Gardens

If indeed Prince through his L4OA foundation is promoting community gardens this is very positive news and mos def represents forward thinking on his behalf. As we begin the slide down the "peak of oil production" cliff, food production once again will have to become more local. The cost of transporting food from thousands of miles away will be prohibitive and therefore food production will by necessity become more localized. In the urban areas of our cities there are numerous empty lots and overgrown areas that could/should be transformed into community gardens. A free source of food and the potential for development of a communal spirit which is sorely needed in so many "urban" areas. This is a very progressive idea and one that will serve a pressing need in the not so distant future. With all the bad press my man P has been getting as of late over something so trivial as this video baby flop this news is definitely welcome.
The idea of promoting a spirit of common-unity(Umoja) and collective work and responsibility(Ujimma) as well as reward is way more important in the grand scheme of things i would say. The brotha deserves a "thumbs up" for this effort. biggrin biggrin

He's only about 7 years too late. Kathy wrote this nonsense back in 1999 or 2000 on the L4OA site. Fail...

I also think that it's never too late , but I do not appreciate that comment about most Americans, it was unnecessary.
