Sometimes I wonder if his fame has frightened him..(again?). It just seems to be a pattern with him. In one hand he's put himself out there because that's what entertainers are driven to do and then of course his fame and notoriety reach very lofty heights...(periodically)...then with that come the consequences!

I can only imagine the fanatics..the feelings of being smothered..the possible death threats...could he be truly scared of all this to the point where every once in a while he's got to purposefully try and reduce his fan base to relieve some of this stress???....so he can start over again????

How would you react to the feelings of being smothered on this grand of a scale?
To us...most of us wouldn't know the feeling, but just because he doesn't show it when we do seem him in public it doesn't mean he's not feeling it. Everyone reacts to a smothered or claustrophobic feelings in different ways...Prince is such a very eccentric guy that it kinda makes sense....

Literally a case of him being to successful for his own good?

I think he is scared... I'm not sure of what, though.

He's probably going through some kind of crisis and he's fighting back in order to protect himself.

I can't be mad at him for what he's doing because I believe he's doing in his own best interest.
And maybe he is pulling things back based on fear. Who knows? Maybe he had another "vision" and he's doing "The Black Album" thing all over again (minus the drugs).

I don't know for sure. Whatever it is, I hope Prince gets through it all right.

It's simple really!

The girl in the picture above finally found Prince and is holding him at "pussy point" for getting his security on her that night. So to get back at him for causing her public humiliation and people dubbing her "Humpalina" she told him to do all of this shit or she will countinually hump him until he can't feel his jewelz anymore!!!

Maybe he has bouts of paranoia. All we see are his actions so if there is something more, that he battles, he should have a trusted person in place for those times, that can act as a buffer. in the 24 years i've observed prince there have been numerous events and incidents that could b interpreted as attempts 2 sabotage his popularity, 2 shake off casual fans, 2 start again if u will. i'm sure peeps on the site could reel off the list of things he has/hasn't done. none of us can imagine what he really thinks, feels or wants, (or doesn't want). if he is scared then mayb we should show some love and understanding? HOWEVER, i think he needs 2 speak 2 evryone SOON, with his side of the story, b it thru' words, music or video, 2 stop the confusion, miss-in4mation and potential hate from getting out of hand.

And I was just thinking about what's in bold. I was thinking he should hold a press conference or something... appear on ET (Entertainment Tonight) and explain his actions to put us at ease.

I don't know about you, but I prayed for him last night before he only retracted like this when something's going on with him, either relationship-wise or even in his own head... I can't say for sure. But when this is over, he'll need all the support he can get for the aftermath phase.

Prince is abusing power. He's abusing the law. Period.

Some of you people feel the need to romanticize EVERYTHING the guy does. It's kind of sad.

On the other hand, it's a kind thing to give the benefit of doubt. We really don't know what's going on and since the actions are so extreme, you do have to wonder if there's something more. Perhaps patience is the best thing.
