Prince clearly feels he no longer needs the hardcore fans anymore. Anyone had enough of him?.

bearing in mind that Mayte once confessed that he refers to his hardcore 'fams' as 'the crazies' i think the only rapport he wishes to have with us is purely commercial i.e. he makes it & we buy it. Of course the ONA tour seemed to bring him to his senses and showed that through thick and thin 'the crazies' would always be there for him. Alas the musicology tour showed him that perhaps he didn't need to rely on us for the next few years.
Well there he goes again with his lil ole self destruct button again. And as always when the tour tickets dry up, the CD sales dry up and he's out doing small theatre tours again we'll be there for him, or is this just 1 step too far?.
Personally i'll always be there but the relationship is strictly music, tours and related activities. How 'bout you?.

thats what it should be about anyway... I can understand him slating 'crazies' to Mayte, god knows the type of nutters who come up to him thinking they know him as well as everything about him, must be freaky eh! I've said before he wants us to comment on his music and live performances but not his personal life. Which is fine by me as I don't know him as a person.

No, it's more about just rolling the eyes and saying 'here we go again'!. it's about not buying into the religion, not giving a toss about who he's shagging today, the notion that critiscism is not allowed, the horrid thought of only 1 website!, the usual awful ticket allocation fiascos and whatever other bullshit regularly gets thrown at us!.

that's pretty shortsighted of you. If he just wants us to be into the music i suggest you start with 'Dirty Mind and read the hundreds of persoanl songs that followed. A song writer like P cannot write persoanl songs and not expected debate to follow.

If this mess isn't straightened out in a satisfactory way for all interested parties with the exception of Web Sheriff (Eat Shit, boys!) I will not be buying anything Prince is selling! Period!

What I already have, I will keep because I paid for it and it's mine. I will keep my mementos as a reminder of the good times but I will no longer continue to be his enabler!

Unless you are suggesting the lawyers and Web Sheriff are acting without their clients consent, I think you mean you'll wait to see if Prince starts backtracking following the worldwide bad press.....

i have lurked on this site for many years....
been a truly obsessed fan since my friend sat me down in a chair and forced me to listen to "when doves cry" i can't even remember how many years ago... more than half my life if i am correct....(bad at math) but now i am having a real problem separating the man from the music... how am i supposed to enjoy music from somebody i resent?

i have been out of it ... the past week+ .... my bro in law actually told me about it all the other day ...

i just kinda roll my eyes ... i tried to argue Prince's side a few times ... and i just told him "hey , i agree with u ... just tryin to be devils advocate" ...

sometimes i do sympathize with certain issues ... about youtube.com etc ... i mean ... why would i sit and watch the "office" on tv , with commercials ... when someone can just tape it ... and i can pull it up on youtube WITHOUT commercials and watch it later ... confused in that respect - some people do lose with regards to the commercialism etc ...

i dont get the Prince thing ... i admit ... but ... he does have a way of surprising etc ... and sometimes over the years - I feel that i am NOT being used (like when i have gotten "free concerts" or ... front row seats practically , etc ... wink
Colonel Angus may be smelly. colonel angus may be a little rough . but deep down ... Colonel angus is very sweet.

Let’s just say his hardcore fan base did abandon him. Isn’t he rich enough at this point where it really wouldn’t matter much? It may hurt some future projects but what difference does it make, it’s not like we want to see him go hungry, but I’m just trying to figure out what difference any of this would make, you know how he is when he has made up his mind about something. How can fans REALLY show prince their frustration in a sane logical mature fashion that would really matter?

Come back to this site and all hell breaks loose. He's kissing his fan base goodbye the whole thing is ridiculous, laughable, and a waste of energies and resources; it's time to join with the human race, he can no more stop the internet than fill the void of space above.

I will surely buy some stuffs from the vault if he releases them someday as I'm still living but after 22 years of being a fan I'm tired of all this BS, the worst, I think, is that suddenly L4OA comes back from nowhere just now.
