Prince's band in high school...

Can someone tell me if Prince had a band when he was in high school and if so, what was it called? I checked the FAQ but didn't see any info about it.

Grand Central, later Champagne... or was it the other way around, don't remember smile

They played the then hot soul/funk hits. Their repertoire included a several Ohio Players covers.
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

I heard a rumor once that during his teen years, Prince was actually a member of his high school orchestra.
But that he quickly got kicked out for playing another band member's instrument.
Apparently,
he was caught playing with her triangle,
while at the same,
she was playing with his ding-a-ling.
