Prince is doing charity work in his hometown.

Minneapolis, here he comes back!
Two projects under Love for one another are under construction in Minnesota.

Honestly, I doubt he'll get much support for whatever charity lately...
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

That would be nice if he built a school of music. I remember conversing with you about this on a thread here months ago when you were asking orgers who you could contact in his camp about that. Well, he does promote "real music by real musicians" so maybe one day he may do that, who knows. I think that would definitely be a good idea especially in his hometown, where he and other musicians introduced the Minneapolis sound to the rest of the world. He could pass that inspiration or his legacy on to other generations of aspiring musicians by building a school of music.

Now that's taking care of people in the community and helping to build it up and inspire others in a positive fashion. Teaching them how to grow their own food and prepare it, feeding the community and a way to teach families how to budget and save money...possibly marketing their own brand of vegees/fruits and selling it wouldn't be bad either.

Great idea that they are building a community center. I guess it's, true what Hillary said, "It takes a village to raise a child" just like back in the day. Great way to get kids off the street and have afterschool centers for latch key kids, and get them involved in positive activities, while their parents are at work, knowing their kids are in a safe place and not running around the streets falling prey to gangs and other societal ills. Would be nice if they have a program to teach kids how to fill out job applications and mock job interviewing, to teach them how to present themselves when applying for jobs. You'd be surprised at how many young people (ages 16 - 18)actually don't know how to fill out job applications, even though they attend school, but sometimes public schools don't have time to teach them actual life skills and most parents are so busy working, they can't cover every societal issue with their kids.

I think it's great what L40A is doing.

Hey there Eli2,

I am really excited to read your post because I did send that letter to Paisley Park and I think that the community center is a great start. I am a partial product of a community/recreation center youth program that taught dance and music. I miss the experience for my kids (they can't miss what they never had) so I compensate with private music and dance lessons . I now have a nephew who wants to learn how to play the guitar, my youngest daughter sings, dances and plays the piano (she likes Prince too). Lessons are a must for real musicians...I'm keeping the faith until the school of Funk is established!!!

love2 I absolutely love this! Urban farming is sooooo great! I applaud Prince for his insight and love of this planet, Earth, and the ones to come after!

Urban farming teaches young people how to rely on the "fruits" of their labor; it inspires HEALTHY eating habits which saves lives and $$ on health care costs; and, last but not least, the concept of teaching children to work together to produce positive results has long been lost with the "me generation," and greatfully contradicts the current mode where children only work together for the wrong reasons.

Practice what you preach! Go 'head! heart
