addicted to prince? is it time to say 'no'? why are we voting on where prince will perform next?
i'm beginning to feel like a drug addict. let me explain: there's no doubt that prince is an unrivalled live performer in his aftershows - and as such, i (and i guess many others) feel they simply 'have' to be there. each time, you have the feeling that you are watching history in the making, you are part of history. watching a live performance should make you feel good in my opinion. i feel like i can't say 'no' hence the drug addiction analogy. but maybe, in light of the recent legal requests it is time to say 'no'. i don't want to be at the next aftershow feeling like i resent the guy i'm in awe of. its not a 'clean' feeling. bad juju. do you know what i mean? we all go to a huge effort - not just financially to be there. we're all older these days. steady jobs. kids. living miles away (sometimes different countries) - but we go on doing it. to go on doing it when we are seemingly so unappreciated is trying. so why can't we vote thus: australia, paris, rome, amsterdam, usa, or 'go-away-and-come-back-when-you-have-some-sense-of-reality-and-humility'? prince does seem to appreciate us when we see him performing doesn't he? maybe those are just cheap words from an eloquent performer, maybe not. is it time to show prince and his team that we all need each other? or am i missing some masterful plan that prince is formulating? it seems there's a lot of folks here looking for meaning in their lives, fixating on prince in every way (love or hate-wise)... it's a way of not focusing on one's own life.
take it all out on prince. he's the big spanking boy of the moment. i'm not an obsessed enough fan, i guess, because i don't really get you people... | |
