They were written by that guy who did the scoremusic, I think his name was Colombo something, I´m not sure about his name but he did some of the score even though of course Purple Rain the album was considered the soundtrack ( which it is) but there was also score music written for this film, and not all melodies were written by Prince as far as I recall. Same with Batman...there´s the Prince album , considered the soundtrack by many,and then there´s the Danny Elfman score music album.
