Until U're In My Arms Again All of my life I've never wanted anyone like I wanted U
Every night I said a prayer 2 God and His angels I'm sure they knew The many tears that I'd have 2 cry If I ever had 2 leave your side CHORUS: Until U're in my arms again I know this pain will never end This broken heart will never mend Until U're in my arms again Every mornin' when I awaken, I imagine U sleepin' in your bed Wrong or right the reason U're taken from my embrace Well, it's never said Cuz every day that U don't return Is another day that my heart just yearns and yearns That's why… CHORUS If life remains a mystery Then there's no reason 2 the rhyme And U, U'll never know what U mean 2 me till U're mine, all mine Until U're in my arms again {x3} (CHORUS) Until U're, until U're, until U're in my arms again! No, ain't never gonna end Never gonna mend Until U're back, right back in my arms again I'll never see like others see (I know that U'll come back 2 me) I know U're gonna come right back 2 me (Come on back 2 me) And this time U will never leave my arms again (Never leave my arms again) Until U're in my arms again {x3} Come on back, baby Come on back {x2} Makes me teary eyed every time.

They do? It's not much talked about here. Maybe it's too sugar sweet for some.

Sappy is fantastic in Prince's world.

And for the record I like "Arms of Orion" and "Grafitti Bridge", too. There...whew!..got that off my chest!

Absolutely GREAT love song...one of his all-time best. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I like the lyrics, but this song sux horribly. It's not the worst thing on NPS, but it is in the top 5 of the worst on the album.
The lyrics are heartfelt. You can tell he was going through a rough time when he wrote this one. I guess after losing a child, I would too. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I always thought it was about the loss of his child-the lyrics are so touching. I don't think it's about a sexual/relationship. It's a loving song from a father to a child.

He wrote this about the death of his son. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

It's one of his most boring ballads ever. It sounds like something from a Lite FM radio station. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.
"You still wanna take me to prison...just because I won't trade humanity for patriotism."

How he can write such beautiful love songs and act so cold-hearted is beyond me.

But if he's singing about a child that survived only a matter of weeks, then that line is still appropriate to the sad death of his child. Even if he did write it about Susannah (if you have the evidence, please post it), it still fits to the unfortunate events that preceded the release of this album, so he more than likely deliberately picked this song to illustrate his current feelings. The key lines to support the baby theory are; "Every night I said a prayer 2 God and His angels " - its more likely that he would pray for someone that needs it (someone who is very ill) than praying every night for your woman. "Wrong or right the reason U're taken from my embrace, Well, it's never said " does not imply a relationship ending. People often refer to people dying as having been "taken", not someone who just left them. ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

It was the last song I warmed up to from Newpower Soul. Now I love it, but at first I wasn't too sure.

A piano ballad would have made this an absolutely killer song. I love this song though 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Nor did he lack a reason though. Pfeiffer Syndrome was the diagnosis. Glug, glug like a mug

Nor did he lack a reason though. Pfeiffer Syndrome was the diagnosis. Indeed - but, often Prince songs are not that specific in detail, allowing more than one interpretation to be reached and it would be a challenge for any lyricist to lever "Pfeiffer Syndrome" in to a verse. Furthermore, he's not actually talking about what the actual reason was, in my view. There are 2 ways to look at this; either, it is "never said" because its not discussed or, more likely, he is simply saying whether it is "wrong or right", (he doesn't say there is no reason, just whether or not the reason was right) alluding to the fact that, certainly with his beliefs, everything has a reason, it is God's will after all. But, how can you find any right reason for an innocent child to die? In as much as some people have their faith shaken when there are such things as natural disasters (Hurricance Annie ripped the ceiling off a church and killed everyone inside). If there is a caring, just God, many people question as to why he would allow such tragedies to take place. [Edited 11/2/07 11:10am] ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...
