What does Prince think of TTD, I mean REALLY?

I've heard the story about TTD not being up to task on stage with him (something about playing guitar, TTD sucked, blah blah blah) & seen P tease him (mocking "If You Let Me Stay). But now that they're on the same side of the fence w/ how they're getting their music to the world, I wonder what P thinks of him.

Does he like his music? Does he respect him as an artist? Am I nuts for imagining TTD @ the Celebration one year? Could he not give a rats ass about the guy?

I dunno, seeing those 2 on the same stage would just blow my mind...

Last time Prince mentioned him was when he said something on the website about
him being a brother and staying independent.

of course Prince Digs Him.if you have closely followed Prince then you notice a Pattern: Prince is from that School that if He is talking about You then He thinks something of you.He digs TTD's Vocals,Writing&Overall Presentation. But Prince is also very Competitive&don't think for a Minute that Prince hasn't told Him I can take you?but there is a Mutal Respect from both partys.TTD has a Very Raw&SoulFul Vibe in His Work but His Ego&Hit&Miss Albums have kinda Made Him a Odd Man on the Outside but I tell you something: if TTD Ever comes Back Correct all the way&TOurs The Guy could Easily Whip up on anybody out now.but TTD hasn't really been the same as far as trying to get that Vibe Back since the Letdown of His 2nd Album. But I Champion the Cat because He is a BAdd Ass&The Industry Knows it but He got Pimped out of it&also brought some things on Himself.but when I hear things going on in Music nowadays I know TTD could do it a 100 times Better IMHO.

Tom

I read an article a few years ago which mentions Prince was spotted at a TTD concert sometime in 1995. So Im assuming hes a fan.

TTD has always had an amazingly uplifiting point of view in his music, even throughout all the career woes.

Compare TRC to Vibrator or Wildcard, and you tell me who sounds happier.

Prince whored himself at virtually every significant act's
show in 1995, constantly demanding them to tell him wether
or not they owned their mastertapes.

He scared the fuck out of Thom Yorke and Michael Stipe...

I'm sure he talked to Sananda as well asking him what's up
with his recording contract and his masters.

Prince met up with Thom Yorke and Micheal Stipe?!

OK because i like you i WILL answer the question(s)
I think Prince likes TTD's music and respects him as an artist. And it would make me go to the celebration if ttd was there. And yes we are talking about Prince(who can be flaky)so there is a chance he might not give a rats ass about TTD.

Hey, since this is brought up - who knows what P thinks of Terence - but has anybody any input on the song Let Her Down Easy? I mean, is it about Prince or what? "Why is age more than a number when it comes to love?" "Well, I'll tell you something, Prince, listen here..."

Also, and I'm sorry if this is old, what's up with the song Superstar, by Lauren Hill. Is that one on Prince?

Everything you drop is so tired
Music is supposed to inspire
How come we ain't getting no higher?
Now tell me your philosophy
On exactly what an artist should be
Should they be someone with prosperity
And no concept of reality?
Now, who you know without any flaws
That lives above the spiritual laws
And does anything they feel just because
There's always someone there who'll applaud

I know you think that you've got it all
And by making other people feel small
Makes you think you're unable to fall
And when you do, who you gonna call?
See, what you give is just what you get
I know it hasn't hit you yet
Now I don't mean to get you upset
But every cause has an effect

Writing rhymes my range with the frames slightly tinted
Then send it to your block and have my full name cemented
And if your rhymes sound like mine, I'm taking a percentage
Unprecedented and still respected when it vintage
I'm serious, I'm taking over areas in Aquarius
Running red lights with my 10,000 chariots
Just as Christ was a superstar, you stupid star
They'll hail you then they'll nail you, no matter who you are
They'll make you now then take you down
And make you face it, if you slit the bag open
and put your pinky in it, then taste it

I think those songs can be about whoever you want them to be about. If it fits for you, you're gonna apply it...

Er, yeah. But if somebody had any input on whether they were actually written about The Artist, then I'd be interested to hear about it. Obviously, I could apply them as commentaries to my man and his carreer, but I'm not Terence. Or the other one - the woman.

Let Her Down Easy was a song Terrence wrote for an old girlfriend and not for Prince. I really don't know what Prince thinks about TTD anymore. At one time they were Friends who Knows ??

*TTD is a cool cat in his own right. TTD can't really compare 2 Prince from what I've seen in person live & video. When TTD first came on the scene, his BayArea show was a funky fun performance filled with passion. He looked like a brotha driven 2 B somebody, while reminding U of (other bodies) like Prince & James Brown at times..U knew who he was in2. He was not no where near the performing perfection of Brown or Prince, but U still felt TTD was someone worth diggin hearing & keeping a eye on.

His first album was really as great as I've ever heard a artist put out as a first solo effort. It was worthy of all the props I recall it getting at the time. Best new artist...4 the year, well he didn't win but maybe he should have. Like U, I heard & seen the Prince concert when he was polking fun of TTD vocals. But then again by "88" he was singing part of (Wishing Well) at his hometown Lovesexy concert. Prince feels with every right that nobody does it better live in concert all around or has the tightest band in the land~ Ala.. James Brown & like D'angelo does now.

With TTD own record company hang-ups I'm sure Prince does feel 4 him & wishes the best 4 T. Prince has been know 2 change up on certian topics & people.
It might B hard 4 someone like Prince at first 2 see a artist who's tryin 2 do "him" abit in concert. But time changes, & softens feelings. A older Prince now might see that as someone who was just showin respect & giving props 2 him.

Prince I'm sure knows he did the same in watching James, Sly, Carlos... blending aspects of there greatness 2 call it his own. From what I understand they are friendly 2 each other and have talked from time 2 time. How tight? who knows...But I'd love 2 see more TTD & Prince have a get 2gether in someway. If its a Kravitz or Musiq, its always a beautiful thang 2 see the younger artist gettin that chance 2 perform with the one they grew up diggin*

Props 2 TTD 4 using his former boxer skills 2 fight 4 his freedom. It shows like with Prince its never 2 late 2 wake up & know the truth about true artistic freedom & ownership.

I got 2 Live TTD concerts on video. One from his first album & the other from his 3rd. Holla CalhounSq if interested...

Haystack

Changing the subject slightly, I've got the 45 of Terence Trent D'Arby as The Incredible E G O'Reilly singing The Birth Of Maudie, and I wondered if anybody else out there loved the song as much as I do?

For anybody who doesn't know, he released it in 1989 just before his Neither Fish Nor Flesh album came out, under the pseudonym as a way of sticking his middle finger up to his record company (sounds familiar) who didn't like his idea of not releasing a pre-release single from the album.
He released a single okay, but there was only a small clue on the cover as to who was behind it.

Who cares what P. thinks of TTD? that's his damn opinion. They R both as talented as one another.
All I know is that P. ain't down with MJ...

"So called King gives birth 2 so-called Prince".

Undeniably that has got 2 B enough. It's been said so I think I'll get back 2 my supermodel sandwich... with Cheese.
