Weird doves cry. Not only is it wierd for doves to be crying which I want to ask about, but do doves make noises ase they're crying?
I mean Prince can be weird and mental at times but is he not being odd by saying doves really cry? And if so what would make them upset? Working up a purple sweat. | |

Doves symbolize peace.
So because there's a lack of peace in the relationship he's in, he says that it's like doves crying. And the keyboards he uses in that song is supposedly 'what it sounds like' when they cry. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone | |

Not only is that metaphor so deep that people still dont understand what he means... but the whole song and what he does with it... its a pretty good representation of the kind of person he is. Beautiful song, btw As for the keyboards= doves crying, I actually figured that out while listening to the song a few months. I was just listening closely and it hit me like lightning.
