The cost of fuel alone oughta be a deterrant for anyone looking to buy a jet. Gas at the pump is $3.00 a gallon. Can you imagine what airplane fuel must cost? Only people with crazy money like Bill Gates, Donald Trump, Oprah Winfrey or Bill Cosby can afford them. Prince isn't in that tax bracket just yet.

They are really exopensive to run- I am pretty sure that Prince uses a charter company. I know a pilot who flew him once, and he works for a very well known charter company.....
nice picture of the XLS but I really think Prince would fly Gulfstream , Challenger or Falcon.... (yes I am a spotter)

Private Jets "break" Rock Stars who are not Billionaires..A bunch of staff waiting around while (on the clock). I've read this before. I think John Oates sold his jet (VH1: Behind The Music). travolta and cruise have a few cuz theyr pilots and love flying.
prince probably hates flying and especially on one of those tiny ones even more. first class is great th0' people hire this private jets or have companies on a tax-lease structure that make it all cheaper. not even air companies own their planes.

I don't think very many stars own them? Perhaps Travolta and a few ohers, but I thought they were still billionaire toys--not millionaire toys. If you're above "well-off", well okay, very rich actually... you can buy time shares in private jet service. The concept is set up similarly to like how normal folks buy time shares in vacation condos. It can work very well even for folks that clock less than 2-3 mill a year. And if you charter smaller planes for straight work related duties, that s*** is soooo tax decutible

I would think Prince would like a Citation X if time was a factor or a Gulfstream V or Global Express if it is a luxury trip.
As far as pricing, most individuals have a fractional ownership in private aircraft. From my experience Net Jets is one of the best companies. Citation X Global Express Gulfstream V [Edited 11/8/07 6:59am]
