The first three discs have some good and some bad stuff on them. The fourth disc, "The Truth", is an entire album of boring acoustical shit that sounds like it came straight off of "Hee Haw". He should have lowered the price of the set and sold "The Truth" separately so I could have left it on the shelf in the record store to collect dust. And that's "the truth".

LMAO! Just be grateful that the record stores carried the 4-disc version and not the 5-disc version. I can't even begin to think of how you would describe the 5th disc, "Kama Sutra", which was the opera that Prince wrote for Mayte.

I love 99% of Prince's work, including what you would call "boring acoustical shit" and "shit hop"....but even I cannot even begin to stomach Kama Sutra. LOL.

A friend made me a cassette copy of "Kama Sutra". It was boring as hell but I liked it better than "The Truth". I hate classical music but acoustical music sounds like country music to me and I absolutely hate country music.

The Cd is worth getting just for "Crucial" alone wink

No way, man. The version of Crucial that Prince put on Crystal Ball pales in comparison to any bootlegged version... the guitar version or the horns.

Yes, defintely worth getting. There are a few duds on here but some true classics as well. To me, if anyone asks about the genius of Prince then I say listen to the actual song Crystall Ball.

But if you've never heard the bootleg version, then the CB one is pretty good. I actually like it better than the one I have on the Crucial bootleg.

Crystal Ball
Dream Factory
Hide The Bone
Movie Star
Interactive
Da Bang
What's My Name
Calhoun Square
Honest Man
Sexual Suicide
Crucial
Strays of the World
Goodbye
Days Of Wild
She Gave Her Angels

are all pretty good songs. I realized I like disc 2 the best, same as Emancipation.
