I loved that it was filmed in black & white. Not only did it give that Chocolate & Butterscotch scene an ironic sense of depth,
but, being that I'm color-blind, it was one of those rare moments that I didn't feel like I was missing out on what eveybody else was seeing. I hated that Prince didn't get shot at the beginning of the film instead of the ending. Cuz, after the movie was over, this was one of those rare moments that I kinda did wish that I had missed out on what everyone else was seeing.

Loved:
The music which goes without saying. "Parade" shall forever be held in Prince's top 5 albums. The gorgeous scenery that made up Nice. The cinematography which was brilliant. The humorous side of Prince that I hadn't seen before. I expected it of Jerome, cuz he's a funny guy. Them tuxedos that the brothers wore were the bomb too. Hated: Why did Chris have to die at the end? I guess they were just trying to tell a story. The controversial scene where Chris runs away from the middle-aged Black lady who was an old client. But then again, regardless of color...I don't know...she didn't look all that really. But that might've offended some folks here though. Prince's over-saturated appearance throughout the movie. Jezz, give some more screen time to the other cast members. There was an unlikable quality to some of the characters too. Selfish, snobby, greedy, etc. Otherwise the movie's awesome! NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

* The fashion * The humour - so many classic one liners. * The music. Duh. * Black and White - added a special something to it. * "We'll be landin' on the moon in 3 minutes" - he sounds so wasted when he says that * Jerome - almost outshines Prince. He's just plain cute. HATE : * The Sharon Family - I wanna smack them all, especially the dad. And how Mary was supposed to be some sort of "good girl" yet she flashed everyone in her first scene. Inconsistency much? What did that scene have to do with anything anyway? * How Chris treats Ms Wellington or whoever. And how she lets him. * How Chris basically asked for it by deliberately angering the dad numorous times, making it hard @ home for Mary and worse for those two to be together. It's like he just HAS to do something if he wants to, despite her telling him it was dangerous. * The ending. Talk about not knowing what to do so just saying "Ok lets shoot him and get it over with!" * How Chris acted like Mary was his even though it was obvious she preferred Tricky @ the start and basically almost ruined his friendship with Trick. BASICALLY WHENEVER PRINCES REAL PERSONALITY SHONE THROUGH [Edited 10/27/07 23:57pm] haha... you've really put a lot of thought into this. I like that. I loved what I put in bold... "he sounds so wasted" I'll never look at that scene the same way again, j/k. But that's one of my favorites cuz even though the acting is so bad, it's hilarious (especially when he gets back into the car and it looks like he misses )... And the line that starts with "Christopher ain't gonna fall into that trap..." everytime. It didn't take me very long @ all lol... I didn't pick up on him being wasted at first but the more I kept watching it, you see how much he drinks and how quickly in the scene before it and was probably drinking in the car [drink driving! ] and his whole attitude and nature just spells drunk to me And the same with the getting back in the car, he's all unsteady.

Like I said, I'll never look at that scene the same way again But now that you mention it, yes, he does drink quite a bit. And it seems that he learns his lesson when it seems like he hallucinates in that scene after he's outed by Tricky. Could someone explain that scene to me with the large black woman? Was that even a hallucination and what does that have to do with anything? had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

I think, could be wrong, but she's one of his clients from ages ago and since he's drunk and pining for Mary he sees his least favourite client. My take on it anyway.

I loved the whole movie but if I had to pick a scene I like when prince goes "you ordered a pizza ma'am" scene too funny
I hated how Issack was able to go around shooting people like he had the right!! He killed Christopher 4 abosolutely no reason, bcuz Mary still went her own seperate ways {I Think!!! } surviving on the thought of loving you, it's just like the water

LOVED: the arts, visuals and the funny moments
HATED: The screenplay Some parts seemed too fake / bad acting. Some parts were CLASSIC Prince at his best. The storyline was off or something...I didnt like him dying either...maybe it would have been better at just 60 minutes Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

CJanssen said: vainandy said: I loved the story line. I mean, nothing is better than a movie about a whore, especially a male whore.
I hated that it was set in a depressing stuffy looking place like Paris. New York would have looked much more live, hell even Minneapolis. Hi Vainandy, ever been out of your country? 1) Paris is an awesome city (not in the winter though), if I was reincarnated, I must have been born there long time ago. This city just breaths culture, renaissance and life. 2) The movie starts with a helicopter flight over the North part of the cote d'azur, you see the steps from the parc in Nice, next to the children's playparc and you see, mixed with other places, lots of parts of Nice. So what are you talking about? No, I've never been outside of the good ole U S of A. Actually, the furthest I've been from Mississippi is Houston, Texas so seeing big cities like New York City or Los Angeles on TV looks really great to me. From what I've seen, a lot of foreign countries, especially in Europe hold on to old ancient buildings from centuries ago. They also love "beautiful countrysides". All this looks extremely dull to me. I have very modern/contemporary futuristic tastes. Tear all that old shit down, build 300 story highrise buildings, and concrete up all the grass and put fountains and abstract sculptures. Even here in America we have our old stuff too. Get rid of that old ass Liberty Bell, re-build The White House, and get rid of all that depressing historical stuff. Move on with the future. The only foreign country that looks really great to me is Japan. Although, I wouldn't be able to understand a word they are saying. But they do have great taste. Canada looks live too. . .
