Last Heart & Good Love Does anyone know when these 2 gems were done? Sound like they're from around the Parade, SOTT era.

i Love all of Prince's music that i have heard,he always has something interesting to say and his musical composition is Amazing and Brilliant

good love is one of my absolute favorite prince songs ever and i could probably talk for hours about it. no other song nails his transsexual camille persona so well; in most of camille songs (rebirth of the flesh, housequake) prince, to be honest, really just sounds like prince with his voice warped. here, in all aspects of the delivery and final effect there is virtually no boundary, and no large part of the lead vocal that could be said to be either entirely feminine or entirely masculine. it goes straight from the girly falsetto "heeeeere im protected" straight to the throaty "only the naked!" without ever seeming contrived.
i also love the way it sounds so incredibly eighties (the chord progression on the pre-chorus could have come from no other decade) yet doesn't sound in the slightest bit dated. that heavily modified, inorganic synth/guitar sound that this song has is one that a lot of modern producers (particularly in house music) are still struggling to get down. last heart? meh.

Witness 4 The Prosecution This raw, hard, bluesy rock number featuring Prince's guitar was recorded during the Dream Factory sessions. It was embellished with horns and background vocals by Wendy, Lisa, Susannah and Eric Leads. Prince uses a court analogy in describing his love/hate relationship with his woman. Witness 4 The Prosecution (#2) Prince re-recorded "Witness" in October, 1986, possibly for inclusion on his new project, Crystal Ball. The new version features additional lyrics and totally new music. Although the song features a rough guitar and keyboards, the main instrumentation is made up of bass and drums, quite similar to "Bob George." The latter version is my favorite!

Good Love..
It's like a cotton candy take on prince's 80's era. LOVE this song. And it still ranks as my favorite of all time...although I stopped playing it for a year because I over-over-over played it. The first time I heard it..I played the song 10 times in a row. it's also worth looking for the full version on "Bright Ligts Big City" there is about 30 seconds more of Prince on the organ. Camille is not a transsexual - Camille is an androgynous male. I hope you discover the difference before you start dating.

For the detail freaks:
Last Heart: January 12, 1986 Good Love: October 30, 1986 1986 was my favorite year for his studio work. I'd throw most of my other CDs out the window if it meant he'd release a box set of all the 1986 recordings. Who else could record "Bob George," "A Large Room With No Light," "Power Fantastic," "Joy In Repetition," "Crystal Ball," The entire SOTT album, the entire Madhouse "8" album, and more, all in the same year????

Camille is not a transsexual - Camille is an androgynous male. I hope you discover the difference before you start dating. camille is named after a french hermaphrodite. prince's symbol is a combination of male and female. i think it's a little more than an androgynous male i meant transsexual more as a literal term, rather than meaning actual "transsexual" in-the-wrong-body people; like you would use "transracial" or "transcontinental" or whatever

Last Heart: described in The Vault
"is an exhilirating funky pop effort with an infectious saxaphone hook..." "the track also features backing vocals by Susannah and saxophone by Eric Leeds. Taped in jan. 1986 at Sunset Sound Los Angeles, Prince intended to re-record the track at a later date but he never got around to it." Love this song. There feels like there's alot of S P A C E left in the song for it to breethe..that's probably why it works so well. Its not over done..its not live..it just is a good pop song, short and sweet. Easy for one to sing alone in the shower and add their own adlibs. I love this song Straight Jacket Funk Affair
