P not a power player since '92 ???? Just read my new Entertainment Weekly/Power Issue w/Ozzy cover. The article 'class of '92' mentions when Prince was listed as power player no. 36
'He may look frail," EW said back then, but this man is built to last. And why not, Diamonds and Pearls went double platinum and he became a VP at Warner Bros. records. Then the artist gave himself an unpronounceable name, saw his album sales plummet, and proclaimed himself retired. He fell off our list in '93 and though he is still touring and recording, he has yet to show us that he can still party like it's 1992.' Is Madonna bitching about her masters? ---------------------------------
Funny and charming as usual | |

People shouldn't write about or say what they don't know. Somethings are better left unsaid. "Use this tool to control the masses w/guaranteed success: Divide/Conquer =>No Communication cuz we are Divided =>Misunderstanding cuz we don't Communicate =>We can't Agree we only Misunderstand =>Chaos cuz we can't Agree. Chaos-an evil tool indeed!" | |

What Morons. Also why would he wanna show you what it was like in 1992? That was 10 years ago and he is with the times not behind the times. Prince is still Wonderful. | |

--- If he was fading into obscurity he would not be selling out venues. Please do not tell me you believe anything that is in Entertainment Weekly. | |

That's funny, I've been ignoring Entertainment Weekly since 1992. What a coincidence. | |

Who cares about what some magazine says?. Great music isn't measured by sales or having your face on TV every night. For me, 1990-92 was Prince's most uninspired period. What is a "Power Player" anyway? The person who wrote that obviously insn't one either - so why write that about someone who is actually doing something with their life! Entertainment Weekly runs an issue every year which lists the most powerful people in the entertainment industry. In '92 Prince was listed as #36 because of his contract with WB & recent record sales. You all think he still has as much clout now as he did in 1992? Dream on. ET isn't saying he has lost it as a musician just that his power in the entertainment industry is diminished since 1992. Which is true. | |

Sad but true.
Most of the general population think that Prince hasn't done anything since "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World" And there's a whole new generation of record-buyers who really have no idea who he is. | |
