What Prince Song(s) Has Taught You or Helped You Through Tough Times? So, is there any song in particular that helped you? If so, what song, and what did you learn from that song?

Kept her tears up in a bottle Pour them out 2 save ur soul... Make a promise 2 ur higher self... Then u don't b chasin' nobody's ghost Of everything make the most... ***** Actually I have learned a valuable lesson with these lyrics as they speak to me personally. Some people suffer in silence and never let anything or anyone get past the walls they build around themselves but living this way only kills a person slowly. A person needs to make that commitment to themselves and love themselves before anything, no one else can love you if you don't love yourself first. Sometimes some tend to live in the past and never really move on with their life but it is important to live each day thankfully for what we have and be grateful. That is what this song taught me, to live each day with hope and love. That's all!

All I can say, is that during times where a broken heart was daily, or I felt disappointment with the conditions of the world, knowing that I was never the only person suffering, or struggling to tread the rough waters of life...Prince's voice was always, and still continues to be comforting. As I type, "Purple Rain..." is playing over the radio. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

"Spirits Come & Spirits Go, Some Stick Around 4 The Aftershow" Prince, through this song, strengthened my believe in a life after this one; and that something as slight as a blowing breeze across your face or a fragrant aroma can illustrate that.

Omg, dozen of songs...
When I felt lonely or was low down I just putted on some tracks that I felt in that mood and they helped me a lot to feel way much better... I mean that's so magical about music - that it can touch you a certain way that no other things can do - at least to me.

His music connects with me at different times for different reasons and seems to define special moments in my life..I got married (on Valentine's Day) and had a miscarriage in 97 so the Emancipation album is pretty special to me, especially Disc 2.
Even this morning as I got dressed listening to Chelsea Rodgers. My daughter asked me if I thought I was Chelsea, as a joke I started shaking 'like a juicy juice' Later I was walking downtown listening to 'Avalanche' and an Avalanche truck drove up next to me with a cutie who was lost, so ofcourse I gave him directions with a smile and a wink. Maybe I listen to Prince to much!!! but I love it.

Having a heart-2-heart connection with a musician is one of the most amazing experiences there is.
I've had that experience with Prince a couple of times myself. Gold did just that. And it was such a special moment that I'll never forgot what that meant to me. Moonbeam Levels helped me once too. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

I have a 16 minute rehearsal of "Another Lonely Christmas" that helped me through a very tough time. It has a very long guitar solo.
I wanted to indulge myself in self pity...

I'd have to say the song "Free". Whenever I've heard it, it reminded me to appreciate my blessings.
