he'll make statements that support what he's currently doing, then a few months later, when he's on his next album or project, it's as if he started over again. Contradicting himself? yes. But I assume he's doing it more from being a spazz than from lying outright. If you want to see Prince lie his ass off, just find the Oprah Interview with him and Mayte. CRINGE WORTHY. I had a chance to watch this but I procrastinated and missed my chance! I sooooo wanna see this now!

It would have appeared that he was using the tradgey to promote his CD. It really would have been tasteless. Exactly! its a private matter anyway. I wouldn't want to talk of bereavement on TV to millions yeah, okay...i agree with this. what prince was doing on oprah was some damage control, because he didn't have time to process what had happened before he was scheduled to tape the interview and make his appearance. PLUS he had "the album he was born to make" to promote. kind of a ridiculous amount of pressure for having something so tragic happen. even if prince weren't a privacy and control freak, he'd be totally justified in skirting around the death of his infant, especially right after it happened.

Give him a break! Most "live" per4mers do absolutely NOTHING live. [Edited 10/25/07 22:54pm]

He played what, 160 songs in 21 days, with changing setlists . Give the man a break. Just because he did a few sampler portions just for the heck of it doesn´t mean he can´t play live anymore. Maybe he made up his mind on the spot about what he wants to play in that moment, a few seconds of SOTT, or When Doves Cry, or whatever...tease a little bit, reminisce about the past, and then continue with the real live instruments. At least the singing WAS live.
What really counts are the aftershows, if you want to make a judgment about his live skills or even question whethter he´s still got it. Another thing about those 21 nights ( and the Musicology tour ) was that because of the party vibe of those shows, the show itself didn´t come across as cohesive as , say , SOTT, Lovesexy or the Gold tour, or the ONA tour. The party nature of Musicology ( the tour) and the O2 spectacle kinda made the whole thing a little bit less strict and tedious, and, may I say , a bit sloppier than the aforementioned tours, which was great for the spontaneous party vibe but just not as intimate and perfectionist as ONA or SOTT etc. where every move and phrase seemed to be more planned. I enjoyed both concepts, and I think it was part of that loose, easygoing party atmosphere that he played the sampler set. He´s still got it, and is a great live performer, that´s for sure. Let the man and the audience have a bit of fun, this is not some tax declaration. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

funny how the haters stick around a Prince fan site
compulsive liar person... hee hee ha ha Ho Ho
well, i didn't get to see the o2 shows and probably would've appreciated anything he did. many also said the crowd loved that section. still, can't compare to full-band, but he did soooo much during the London groove.

Thank you. I find it really distressing that people posting on these boards say such hurtful things that seem to forget that there's a human being in all of this. I know that at times I'm just as guilty (the point where I was determined he and Chelsea must be about to have beautiful babies for example), but when I see such hurtful comments I want to turn from a cat into his lion and strike the enemies down! I'm looking out for a purple dolphin.

RodeoSchro said: You guys are freaking nuts. Prince is the best live performer of this or just about any generation. You're picking one or two songs that for production reasons had samples played, and making it seem like Prince is Milli Vanilli. Calling him a liar and a fake?
No WONDER he's shy around fans. I would be too, if there was a chance I'd meet YOU. Yep...I second that! It seems like some P`s fans will never be satisfied!! "Goodness will guide us if Love is inside us"

I have this great idea for a Prince fansite. It would be organised in such a way that positive comments would display in a white box and negative in black. The mods would have to tag the comments as negative (or there could be user voting) and then the genius option would be that users could choose to filter out the black or the white. Hence, the site would be improved for both lovers and haters who would no longer HAVE TO mix.
Whatchathink, huh? Is the org due a makeover anytime soon? ladycat said:I find it really distressing that people posting on these boards say such hurtful things that seem to forget that there's a human being in all of this.
