Most Intrusive Sidebar on Prince Record Which of the following on a Prince record is most offensive/bothers/annoys you the most:
1. All the Critics Love You In New York-the "definately Masturbating" voiceover 2. Lovesexy- The Intro "Rain is wet..." I forget how it went 3. Bob George- the gangster 4. Diamonds and Pearls-Tony M Raps over the duration of the record 5. Symbol record -see 4 6. Symbol record -Kirstie Ally interludes 7. Gold Experience- NPG Operator 8. The Rainbow Children- The Vader narrative running through the record 9. Other I will cast my vote for 6, this album could have great momentum but her chats slow it down Honorable mention to 8, again a superb record tarnished. merf

wow... that's a lot of annoying stuff.
I'd have to vote for 7)... its annoying having to skip thru those. I'd enjoy Bob George more w/o the whole gangsta persona... what does that prove anyway? He's getting revenge on those 2 guys by writing a song about them, but where does the gangsta figure in? had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

None r intrusive 2 me,but if I HAD 2 pick 1,I'd go with #6.

4. 5. 6. 7. Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

Yeah, "Rain is wet and sugar is sweet" or somethin' like that. But I also agree with that too. That shit is way too long. Aspecially when he used to do at the Lovesexy concerts. It's like "Get to the damn song already!". Some people think I'm kinda cute

Anything with Tony M. sucks, so that one's just a given.
I really, really hate the Vader voice on TRC, though. I like his use of that effect in past songs when he used it sparsely, but as the narration of an entire album? That's overkill. That's not even to mention the fact that the goddamn (pun fully intended) voice appears in many of the actual songs themselves, so you can't escape it. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

1. All the Critics Love You In New York-the "definately Masturbating" voiceover - No problem here
2. Lovesexy- The Intro "Rain is wet..." I forget how it went - BLASPHEMY! Lovesexy is perfection from beginning 2 end! 3. Bob George- the gangster - fits fine 4. Diamonds and Pearls-Tony M Raps over the duration of the record - REALLY annoying 5. Symbol record -see 4 used 2 didn't i hear this isht already? 6. Symbol record -Kirstie Ally interludes fits the baroque excess of a "rock soap opera" 7. Gold Experience- NPG Operator annoyingly dated. 8. The Rainbow Children- The Vader narrative running through the record - while i've gotten used to it, and come 2 love it, this is the "winner" by far. there is great work on this album and the vader voice is a distraction from it. beyond the obvious overtones, it speaks 2 Prince losing his gift 4 nuance and reaching for a lyrical hammer. 9. Other "future baby momma" ick. ruin an otherwise ok song with ridiculous lyrics. then make it worse by using the ridiculous lyrics as the track of the title. eek. put the sexing days behind u. leave the seduction to ur riches, Mr. Goodnight. http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista

How about Come? The intro to it is a bit annoying, but imo the song is good but you get those weird slurping, kissing noises at towards the end! I need Prince tunes on the Rock Band game! PLEEEEEEASE, im prepared to beg.

I'll go with number five: I always found the rapping part of "Love 2 the 9s" especially ruined an otherwise good song. Personally . I think we are all Boring with No Lives cause all we do is talk about Prince,Criticize and Gossip. I need a Horny Man is what I Need and probably so do most of yas. **good pay off though** Yeah that was ridiculous. Luckily I waited through all of them to see if there were any other songs on there. He did something like that on Rave, so I stuck around in case he snuck in another song. I don't mind the Come seques all that much. The rap in Sun/Moon/Stars is one of my favorite parts of the song, actually. Tony M. kinda lowers the grade of some good D&P songs (although I don't really mind Live 4 Love, it actually fit in real well), but does more damage to the first 3 tracks of the album. I took out "Love 2 the 9's" from the lineup for a few listens because the song went downhill when the rap came round. And as for "Future Baby Mama", the speaking part is great. The last time I heard it, the song was kinda putting me to sleep until he started with the sweet talk. And it starts that mini-storyline going from that song to "All the Midnights"... my fav. three track progression in the album. And if not for that advertisment in Rave, I think I would have liked Prettyman more because it feels so separate from the rest of the album. Therefore, I never play it anymore. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

Someday, if you're very, very lucky...you'll know what those signify. And they won't bother you in the slightest. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

the albums worth of collaborations on GB, Tony M, TC Ellis, Love 2 the 9's was hacked all to hell LOL, Lovesexy is perfect, Kirstey Alley was so "look at me" remember she was a sex symbol at this time. The album that flowed perfectly he gave to the Family they counted off and flowed into every song like it was a kick ass gig.

I like to play Prince in my car, and sometimes on random Mix and when that happens, I hear the odd click and vannesa barthomelow and other crappy background noises. Why the hell does he make these "tracks" on the album, I mean the segues on Love Symbol or TGE are annoying as hell. The world would be a greater place without them

Because it's easier to skip than fast forward, and surely that would be more annoying? Like a Gb Major with a E in the bass

9. Other
Does no one else absolutely abhor the rapping on Chaos and Disorder? I mean, I sometimes acutally blurt out obscenities when some of those fools start yapping. It's like "uh, can you stop talking into the microphones, please? We're trying to record a song here!!!"
