I like the song, even though I'm not a fan of that drumb beat.

Overall, it's a song that works very well with a really really good album.

I just wish desperately that a re-mastered version of SOTT would be released.

As Imago's boo, I agree completely with what he said.

I don't remember him singing "It" either on Sign 'O' The Times! confuse

I know he sings it cuz I seen the movie a million times. Like I said he goes straight into "It" right after "Forever In My Life". He uses the same beat as "Forever In My Life" while performing "It".

He does sing a bit of it. The chorus repeats the word "Alright" to end the song. "I want to do it all the time, ALRIGHT..."

On a side note, in "I Could Never Take the Place of your Man", many people are unaware that the slow bluesy guitar solo break (after the song's guitar solo when he goes off to the side and the performance switches to a different groove and mood) slowly turns into an intrumental of the chorus of "Rockhard in a Funky Place"

Right nod..Some people are also unaware that he performs "It". It's a small number but good.
Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

razz From experience in using the song for special purposes (figure it out...lol) I really like the song. Before I used it erotically, however, I still liked it. It sort of described how I feel sometimes when I've got dirty thoughts on my mind. It's pretty easy on the chops, too. I sing it all the time. I think it's a sexy song.

I was NOT a fan of this song when I got the album back in 87. I always skipped over it. But like a ton of other Prince songs, It grew on me. Now its one of my faves of all his songs. Stark, bare, with great word play.

I LOVE "It" ! Loved it from the first day I heard it in my early teens.
What's fascinating about this song is the incredibly sad melody ( in MY opinion) with incredibly naughty lyrics. That's not Prince typical horny song if you know what I mean. Take for ex the melodies of Darling Nikky ,319 or Head : They are provocative and sexy both melodically and lyrically. "IT" is very unique.

Best song on the album. It sounds like something from the "Old Prince". The entire album should have been like "It".

Love it. Love the way it breaks down then builds again. And live on SOTT - wonderful.

"it" is a great song.it just doesn't quite fit in lyrically with the rest of the songs on sott.the lyrics are too plain compared to the others which are so inventive and original.it works fine though.that beat is sick.the only song off of sott i don't absolutely love is "slow love".the lyrics are great and the music is beautiful.just the tempo is kinda wack(especially the drums i don't like).the one from the movie is better.still not crazy about this song.the rest of the album though.some of p's song.easily my favorite album of all time.
For all time I am with you, you are with me.
