No way...

They're too old to have known Prince.

I don't know what one of my grandmothers thought of him. She passed away pretty recently.

My other grandmother probably would have the same attitude towards him that my mom does. "He's an acquired taste..." and I think a lot of his music would shorten my grandma's life by a couple more years.

And I've got one grandfather I never met.
And one I have met... but he's estranged. And to be honest, I don't like him very much. My dad's attitude might have rubbed off on me, but the only 2 times I've seen him recently were at two funerals (one for his sister and one for his ex-wife)... he left my grandma and took all of her money with him.
And to return the favor, my grandma left nothing for him.

And when we were with him during the viewing, I was thinking that if I brought Prince up, I'd have to explain myself to him about him... and I really wasn't going to go through all that trouble with someone I barely see.

Sorry... had to get that off my chest.
had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

A couple of months ago, I was driving my grandma home from my nephew's birthday party. I had the Purple Rain soundtrack playing and she was humming along. She even sang the chorus to "Purple Rain".

my grandparents liked madonna, michael and prince at the height of their fame. I recall my grandma bringing him up a couple of times.

Not mad--I'm just one of the older farts around here that can't STAND the use of that negative stereotype.

Thanks for trying. And, contrary to what my avatar says, I'm a woman.
