The Video For "Diamonds & Pearls"....... Seriously, it has me in a trance right now. I watch the video in the morning, at work and when I'm at home.. In fact I'm watching it right now as I type this lol. I just can't stop. I don't know what it is about this video that I love so much. I definitely think this is one of Prince's best videos ever if not the best. I need this on my ipod ASAP . "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ
"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always

...the director is Rebecca Blake...she also directed the video for "kiss" and it won video of the year on one of the major awards show...she did something else with prince ,cant remember but it also won award for best video somewhere.Prince need to work her again ...his most awarded videos were made by this lady....I think she directed cream if I am not lying. Also ,is anyone aware of the fact that Daniel Pearl had a hand in Prince's "partyman" video (or was it Batdance?) ?

When I first saw the video, I was absolutely certain Princes career was over.
He looked like Jackie Onasis in an Elvis Jumpsuit, and the song is so horrible, I knew it would never be a hit. Well, it was a huge hit. Great shots, and fluid video--but just so damned girly.

Beautiful song and video.
It was one of the songs that I saw the video for first before I got an album with the song on it. Love the whole set-up, the look in his eyes, especially in the last scene with the children. Ah, so cute That's one of those tracks that just hints on the sophistication and class he has. The lyrics, not so much, maybe, but the music, simply beautiful. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

One of his most professional videos...every video from the CD is effective in its own way. A complete "sell-out" video...and I loved it! All good things they say never last...

Its a fine song, in the sense that the musicians (the powerfull drumming of Michael Bland, the wails of Rosie Gaines) and the arrangement (a nice Beatles / Queenlike break) lift it up. Otherwise it would be as schmaltzy as The arms of Orion.
But the video made my toes curl when i first saw it. I mean, with those balletdancers and those bubble blowing kids on the lap of Rosie, it reminded me TOO much of some cheesy, kitchy Michael Jacksonvideo.

The video was shot in LA at city hall I believe...
I like the part where he bounce off the couch and did the splits. The whole D & P album, videos, maxi singles, TV appr....the whole '91 thang was great. Even folks who did't like Prince like the album. My late father even liked it...I miss pops ...sorry ... The album was great!!! Prime aka The Kid

Anyone know who the ballet dancer in the video is? The one in white who Prince kisses on the arm?

I'm gonna watch it on YouTube now to celebrate the greatness of it.
Oh, right. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.
