sign of the times - meanings? hey i'm going to do the song 'sign O' the times tomorrow with one of my classes. I'm going to play the song for them and then talk through it with them.
Can someone help me out with the meanings of the song? 'Hurricane Annie ripped the ceiling of a church And killed everyone inside' - was there an actual hurricane hat did this? 'It's silly, no? When a rocket ship explodes And everybody still wants 2 fly' - which rocket exploded, was it columbia that he's refering to? 'Some say a man ain't happy Unless a man truly dies' - is this a famous saying and by whom? 'We'll call him Nate... if it's a boy' - why Nate? significance? thanks

Wow, you guys make me feel old. He's talking about the Challenger exploding in 1986. The song came out in 1987 Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.
