Will Prince Attend Minnesota Music Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Nov. 2nd? http://www.jamestownsun.c...=D8SKEDT83
Source: Various AP articles New Ulm music hall hopes for Prince appearance NEW ULM, Minn. When the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame honors its 2007 inductees Friday, organizers hope Prince will answer their pleas by showing up. For now, he's left them in the dark. "We won't know for sure until he walks in the door," Hall director Dodie Wendinger said. New Ulmites sent the singer photos of a little red Corvette in honor of his 1983 hit. When they didn't hear back, they sent the picture again and again, each time with more people sitting in the Corvette. If Prince is a no-show at this year's induction ceremony, he won't be the first big star to skip out. Bobby Vee and Bob Dylan are already on that list. But Wedinger says she understands why they don't make the trip to New Ulm. "It's not that these guys don't want to come. They're just too busy," she said. The Minnesota Music Hall of Fame started inducting musicians in 1989, honoring stars like Dylan along with polka musician "Whoopee" John Wilfahrt, '60s rock group The Trashmen and the Minnesota Opera. I think if he's in the U.S. he will. Prince loves Minnie, and after the way his last concert was shut down by the police, I think he'll want to make an appearance. He did say he'd be back. | |
