The love we make Hi everyone,
I have a live version of this song from 2004 (Fillmore). Question 1: I really love that rendition. There is one thing I don't underdstand in the beginning: Prince pays tribute to a person but I can't hear the name. Does anybody know ? Question 2: Which version do you prefer : the live or the studio one ? Thank you

Beautiful song. The idea reminds me of the love work, that has to be done.
I guess that's what he meant, when he said; Let's work" way back yonder. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

This is one of those songs which I think could be superb live. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

would love to hear this as a "staple" in his live shows,
especially since the entirety of Emancipation seems glaringly missing in ALL concerts, post JAM OF THE YEAR. please correct me if i am wrong: have you ever heard an Emancipation song played live since Jam of the Year/Emancipation Shows?

The Love we Make live is okay but he kind of drained a lot of the melody from the vocal. Would take a truer rendition to compete with the studio take IMO. Glug, glug like a mug

Since those tours (very occasionally): One Kiss At A Time (ONA guitar spot) La la La Means I Love U ((first leg of ONA) The Love We Make (once, as above) (and a snippet of 'Soul Sanctuary' during an ONA soundcheck in London) ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice.
