Detroit Parade soft n' wet?

In 2004 I got the best birthday present ever - the Detroit birthday Parade concert DVD that includes extra track soft n' wet.

Does anyone know how/why this came out so late, and more importantly if other tracks are available from the same gig, and if so are they in circulation?

Cheers!

V.

I know what you mean. I had this concert taped years ago when it was first broadcast, and there was no soft and wet. I didn't even know until recently that channel 4 had edited it out (for whatever bizarre reason - I mean they allowed Head!!). I recently got the DVD of this and saw the footage of soft and wet for the first time, it's much worse quality than the rest of the show, but I don't care, this was still awesome to watch.

I don't think there were any other tracks that were ommitted from that show though.

There were LOADS of other tracks ommitted from the show (only about 2/3
the show was actually broadcast, the rest of it is still in the vault).

Here's the missing tracks...

New Position
I Wonder U
Alexa De Paris
The Dance Electric (with Andre Cymone)
Under The Cherry Moon
Girls & Boys
Purple Rain
A Love Bizarre (with Sheila E.)

I was actually *at* the concert; years later when I heard there was video of it, I was just excited However, I was VERY disappointed that the whole concert wasn't on there. Prince's "battle of the bass and guitar" with Andre Cymone was priceless.

Maybe one day. . . pout

Wow, that sounds incredible. I always thought that the concert video was kind of short. It's missing some serious jams. What went down in the battle? It's a travesty that there is not more commercial available concert footage from the Parade era (my favorite).

Basically, after they played through the song, they did this extended jam where Prince would play a lick and then Andre would respond back. It was realy amazing to see them on stage together--considering I never saw the *really* early concerts.
