Does anyone know if Prince originally intended to release this album himself (considering he recorded every song with his lyrics - understood it was a demo for the family)

I cant stop thinking it wouldve been a huge hit for him, given his popularity at the time.

Good question. It was not uncommon for Prince to write songs for others and record them in the process. I know he did it for The Time, Jill Jones, Sheila and others.

From my understanding, The Family project was originally supposed to be the next Time album, but they had disbanded by then.

i'm going to see them friday at Bunkers. that album was sooooo underated .
