I prefer 16 in terms of albums, 13 is my favorite song.
You should get them---at least a cheap version (e.g. CD-r from ebay) if you are curious. If you really like them, then you can try to track down the expensive authentic cds. (Or get them on vinyl, much less expensive...I found 8 for $3.)

^ I thought there were only 3...(2 released):
8 (with songs 1-8) 16 (with songs 9-16) 24 (with songs 17-24)* And then the official remixes for 6, 10 and 13... What's the fourth & what songs are on it? I kinda remember something about 32, but not sure.... *17 was officially released on the 1-800-NEW-FUNK album. [Edited 10/13/07 17:31pm]

PS. If you find yourself wanting the real deal for officially released Madhouse CD's be sure to check the known fakes thread at HQ so you don't get screwed. I paid $75--$100 for each of my Madhouse cds (b/c I didn't get them back when they were first released).

[Edited 10/13/07 17:31pm] For what it's worth, according to Eric Leeds there were 3 different 24 albums recorded which would total 5 Madhouse albums (the 2 official releases and 3 unreleased versions of 24, recorded in '88, '93 and '95. And that's straight from the horses mouth so to speak. . [Edited 10/13/07 17:52pm]

Maybe Boris or Langebleu will come along and drop the knowledge on us. ---- Okay now this is making me curious so I searched HQ and found this: Monte said: i like the 94 version but find the 88 the best madhouse album out there. i've read somewhere here on housequake that the 88 version:
17 (penetration) 18 (R U legal yet?) 19 (Jailbait) 20 (A girl and here puppy) 21-24 (dopmine rush suite) is not an actual album compilied by prince but by a fan. but that doesn't make sense to me because it flows so well and fits two side of an lp. regardless it rocks and this thread that shows the same configuration listed above and also says that Eric's Times Squared album was originally supposed to be Madhouse 26 ( about 26--maybe the poster meant 24--that would support what Eric said (per your post). But then we are still missing the second configuration of 24...

I know you can download at least two versions of 24, i guess the third one is 'out there' also - but if you wanna know more about the whole madhouse history straight from eric leeds then check out this interview with him here http://www.thelastmiles.c...-part2.php it's the second of a two part interview (you can also read the first part from the link on there) - it's a very informative read which includes all the details of Princes association with Miles Davis, and Eric's whole history with prince. Hope this clears up a few things for you

[Edited 10/13/07 17:31pm] I LOVE ALL those albums, I love Jazz fusion anyway but when Madhouse came out I almost lost my mind because Prince had something to do with it too. I still play one of my favorites 10 1/2. My Daughter who is 3 LOVES that song and will stop playing or whatever she is doing just to dance and jump to it. I am thinking about taping her because at the very end of the song she does the Vogue dance, it's hilarious.

Why don't they just re-release those albums to the public? I REALLY REALLY WISH THEY WOULD. Music like that should not be so exclusive, it should be enjoyed by not only current fans but a whole slew of new listeners too.
