The RJ interview was in 88. I assume the photo was taken in eary 1980 when Prince was on tour with Rick.

I think its a shame that these two very talented musicians couldnt come together at least once for a colaboration. I believe it would've been a fire hot record.

The pic is obviously from late 81, during P's first leg of his Controversy tour. P wore this same outfit on that tour. Also, P wore his hair much curlier, like Rick's actually, in the front, on the second leg of the Controversy tour in early 82. This was probably backstage at an awards show, be it the Grammys or AMA. Especially going on the way the cat in the middle is dressed. Is that P's biz dude, Bob?

It's a VERY cool pic of Rick and P together. I've never seen it before. And it's a very rare thing to catch them together in a pic. Rick himself was wearing a tux, which I have never seen him wear before. So it was definately a more formal gathering than the Grammys or AMA's. Rick would have been wearing his stage clothes like P is in this pic.

Anyone have any pictures of Rick James with Neil Young. They were in a band together in the 60's that recorded for Motown. Rick taught Young how to properly play electric guitar.
