"Somewhere Here On Earth" an inspiration...

I finally see the clip of "Somewhere Here On Earth" this morning...

I watched it a couple of times, and, as I watched the clip the second time, as Prince is standing on the bridge, and you can see that it is a damp evening....

This feeling comes over me and I say to myself, this emotion reminds me, of walking on the tears of yesterday....so I respond to the clip, saying that Prince has always brought on something that inspires me, and really all he has done, is stand there. Loving Prince is beside the point, I know muses are always known to be female, but I am starting to believe Prince is my muse.

This poem, came out of seeing Prince on the bridge.....

I don't know what to call it.....maybe, Forgiveness...

The midnight street was wet
Like walking on the tears of yesterday
Something sad was beneathe my feet
And tonight my eyes held them at bay
The bricks were as years
Like an eternal flowing road
And although tomorrow just kept me going
I didn't want to let bygones go
So the wind has dried the morning
Like the comfort of smelling a rose
And I will step on a stone today
And the sun will shine as the tempest blows.

very nice cool

I haven't seen the clip (cuz my computer sux razz )

but the song itself has been on my mind a lot since I heard about the video.

Maybe the next time I give it a listen, I'll be able to grasp a poem from my heart and bring it out into the open. I know there's a story there somewhere, a poem dying 2b written about my intepretation of Prince's search for his soulmate.

Talk about inspiration. Seems P is pretty extremely handsome and solo for a minute now. Not to say he has or has not, but, P just may need to finally get his clothes and hair messed up a wee bit. pat . Btw, nice poem and love the song.

Thank you guyz, for your nice comments, and Billmenever, I'd love Prince just the same with messy hair...I wouldn't mind giving him that hairdo myself.

I listened to "The Dance" last night, which came at the end of a random game of 3121...

"Somewhere Here on Earth" could actually be a b-side for it... but that might not be the best idea.

The most interesting thoughts came to mind while listening to "The Dance"... there's gotta be a poem in there somewhere and I'll try to find it in the next couple of days.

Funny you should say that, when I first heard The Dance, the visuals I got were very similar to the S.H.O.E video, particularly the outdoor shots.

Wow... small world.
I don't really know what thoughts come to mind when I hear "The Dance"... but the strongest visual comes from the last minute of the song... check out my blog to get the details. http://www.xanga.com/DreamyPopRoyalty

It's funny... when I visualize songs, I'm always thinking indoors... I still think indoors with Somewhere here on Earth, but I only saw the first 5 seconds of the video (my computer sux rolleyes )

Wow, that's a lot. Do people actually read other peoples blogs!? Couldn't you just copy-paste the specific parts?
Or maybe that would be better in the "The Dance" inspiration thread.
BTW, nice poem Tame.

Tell you what. When I listen thru 3121 later, if something else comes to mind, I'll start a thread and include those thoughts from my blog.
Fair enough? wink

[And some people do read my blog. Sometimes when I write a new really interesting one, I let them know and they get back 2 me.]
I'm probably the only person here who has a blog that's specificially for Prince and has everything 2 do with him and his music. It's kinda like an online journal of my "journey as a fan". cool
