I seriously doubt that record stores will be obselete. I do believe that
in the near future there will be cd's that are the size of a 50 cent piece.
The sound quality you can get from a traveling cd' player that can contain
two-packs in it's holder, would be favorable to this third party. Music
coming through your computer is lame. T cool

If they don't do something about the Prices, they will be obsolete real soon, they're really ridiculous!

They won't be obsolete at all. Come on, they still do the majority of the distribution and manufacturing. They may not own masters, but they still make money.

I honestly wish that we don't lose albums in CD format. I mean there's nothing like going to a wrecka stow (FYE/Best Buy/Borders, etc.) with the anticipation of picking up something new. Online, u can pretty much find anything. Where's the thrill in that?
But I will have to go online for the rest of my collection.
And I don't own an iPOD, so that would complicate things 4 me.

Most CD's are ridiculously priced. Like a new one could cost up to 18.99 at FYE and I go to Target for a cheaper price.
But as far as Prince is concerned, the most I ever paid for an album was, I think close to 19/20 bucks on 3121... and TGE for $17.99 (USED). But most of my finds have been pretty reasonable, around 13-16 bucks for new copies... and the less popular ones are even cheaper... the lowest price I ever paid was 7.99 for ATWIAD & Rave, both used.
had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

I don't believe that they will stop making cds. They may not sell as many as they used to, but people still buy cds.

I agree with you about the pricing. In my area, the most I see a cd going for is around $14 (not on sale). That is at Best Buy, Circuit City, and even small chain stores.

Now, when u r talking about how much has been spent on a Prince cd, the most I can say I have paid is around $40 for a Madhouse cd. I felt like a fool after doing that, but was happy with the product.
