If Prince Never Rocked Say Prince's music pre-Purple Rain was better, I don't care. I think all his music pre-Purple Rain was pretty damn good.
But this fact remains: If Prince never rocked, he would have simply been a one-hit wonder with 1999 on the pop charts. By the time Kiss came around, every one would have wondered who Prince was. | |

Prince never really rocked in my opinion ...
but I guess ya'll have a different definition of rock. When you're talking about rock I'm thinking about Jimi Hendrix, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, the Deftones, QOTSA, the White Stripes, Led Zeppelin, the Black Crowes, the Sex Pistols, the Ramones, Neil Young .... and many many more! Rock isn't just about adding some loud guitar to a slick song ... Rock is about a feeling Prince doesn't represent at all. I'm not saying I don't like the guitar-based songs of Prince, I'm just saying they're no more rock than Bon f*ckin' Jovi. | |
