As many of you know I’ll be going to Minneapolis this weekend. Yeah I’ll be doing shows Friday and Saturday night at the Orpheum Theater but I’m mostly going back to visit an old friend. An old buddy of mine named Prince, or as I like to call him, the artist formerly known as the Artist Formerly Known as Prince.

Prince is someone I can’t seem to lose whenever I'm in Minneapolis. I love the guy, but he’s been calling me all week. “Hey can I pick you up at the airport Thursday night?” “Let’s go shopping for some high heels”, “Jim, please come out and help pick up women”.

Don’t get me wrong, Prince is one of America’s great musicians, but I’m kind of dreading him giving me his cell number (again) at the meet and greet. He called me all week. Hello, I’ve got it. I just hope he doesn’t find out which hotel I’m staying at and fill my suite with rose petals like he did last time I was in town. That was a little over the top.
