Book - Best Biography? Hi gang
Anyone know of a really good biography of Prince's life? I've seen quite bad reviewa of the recent thieves in the temple one.

DMSR by Per Nilsen - Best bio. but it only goes upto the end of 1987.
Possessed by Alex Hahn, goes upto just before Musicology (IIRC), and the author had access to the interviews and research by the Uptown crew (inc. Per Nilsen above), so the info is sound, but some fans take issue with the more salacious, or "negative" slant Hahn portrays of Prince. That's your best bet in terms of biographies really. There is also The Vault, although it is out of print, an updated version is expected (next year hopefully), and is the best resource of information on Prince, but it is a resource of information and a chronology, not a biography. I enjoyed Liz Jones's book Slave to the Rhythm.
I thought Thieves In the Temple by Brian Morton was rubbish. Michaelangelo Matos essay on Sign O The Times as part of the 33 1/3 series, ain't bad. Dave Hill's Prince: A Pop Life is great, but a little dated.
